do i have enough lights?

im wondering if i am using enough lights for my plants and how long should i wait to add more lights. this is my first grow by the way, very inexpansive. im using bag seed and have 3 plants, 4 seedlings, the plants are about 2 1/2" tall. they are about 2 weeks old. the first little sprout leaves are turning yellow, i water them every couple days and mist them because the heat. i have an osculating fan blowing on them.

im using
4 13w(60 watt) CFL lights. 900 lumens each
1 24" plant and aquarium 15w (75 watt) tube

i keep the cfls and inch away from the top of the plants and the hood from the lights surround the plant.i have tin foil surrounding the plants on the walls, which are 8ftx4ftx2ft. they are on 18/6 lighting. they are growing alot. lots of new foliage. can i get some help with the lighting?? and when should i start usin nuts and fert? also i have little fruit flies, or nats. can those be harmful and how do i rid of them?

enough to get something - yes. enough for 80% on this forum - no. you can use what you have and get a few bong hits, sooner or later all weed growers get the "there is never enough/too much syndrome. people who end up with weight use hids and maybe 4foot flouros to keep mothers and clones.

pix of your plant would help most people dont nute till 3 - 4 weeks with flouros because its slow. a glass with some dish soap and vinegar will kill fruit flys.

you said your misting the yellow one to help with heat?

dont mist while the light is on at all the water on your leaves heats up and hurts the leaves.

but that seems sum what sufficient to put out sum sort of buds but remember, the more lights the better, the only time its too much is when it starts to wilt the plant or cinge it or cause any other heat stress

you should get more lights sooner than later because you want as much on it from all sides to help it get nice and bushy instead of skinny and leggy

nice thanks! yeah i plan on getting more lights, probably stick with cfl's. this is my first grow and doin it pretty inexpensive. i also dont have a camera so its will be a little hard to show you, but they seem pretty healthy. one plant has some brown tips on the leaves. no idea about that, i want to feed them but dont want to hurt em.

those small lights will get you started, but you should really get some bigger lights. for veg try to get 6500k daylight bulbs. the highst wattage ive been able to get is 26/100 they do the job fairly. and for flowering try to upgradge those to the 42/150watt warm cfls. spectrum should be around 3300k or so. ohh and with all those keep them as close as you can without causing damage to your plants.

Hi.. nute after 3-4 weeks..I use 20-20-20 for veg $7. & 10-25-20 for flow. $7...I'd get 46w about $7-9 each, and 26w 2 for $12. Some leaf death at bottom happens.. Get rid of foil, it can cause hot spots & burn..use mylar (office supply store, hardware), or paint flat white..
for flys get fly strips $2-4. hardware.. good luck :mrgreen:

thanks guys. i think i burnt one of the leaves tho, its all dark and dried up.. probably because i keep it a 1/2 inch away from the 13w CFL. i fed them miracle gro singles which is 28-8-16 (3-1-2) is that appropriate? i took down the tin foil. thanks for all the help by the way i have no idea what im doin, but my girlfriend is gettin kinda jealous because i tend to my babies more than her!

I have used miracle grow several times in the past it will work fine, just be careful with dosage it will burn your plants if you over feed them. I always start with a half strength solution the first time to make sure the plants are ready for the nute regimen.
