do i really need heat?

Well you can get it to stick together using pressure, but if you using it to smoke it will be fine, but if you are planning on cooking with it, then you still need to decarb it, by heating it or with alcohol, or some other solvent, if that is the route you choose...
 
just for smoking. just wanna make sure i get a nice block of hash instead of a block of pressed kief. but i dont wanna heat it up.

Pressure creates heat.. If you are using a few tons of pressure you shouldn't need heat but if it is easy for you to do then heat it up to 85-90f and once it is tight wait a min then try again and it should tighten more and keep repeating so until you cant press it any more. you will have a really tight pack..
 
so i guess what id like to figure out is, how much pressure would i need for it to have 85 to 90 of heat so i dont need to add any? thinkin of puttin it on a jack and jackin up a car. if thats not enough ill jack up a trailer with a few cords of wood. and so on...
