DO NOT bubble water.

im a newbie on here. ive been seeing where people are setting their tap water out to disipate the chlorine. they will airate the water to make this happen faster. i own a swimming pool and one of the ways i raise the ph in my pool is by airating the water with an air compressor. just b/c your airating a single gallon instead of 20k wouldnt make a difference.. im certain the result will be the same. so by airating the water you are also raising the Ph of the water... if u dont believe me google it. I typed this into google: "raise ph airate"... hope this helps someone out!!

if you are running a dwc setup what's the difference, it's going to rise when you airate it in the res the same as it would disipating the chlorine. chlorine gets a bad rap it is actually very beneficial in hydro setups.

yes, you should bubble the water. the ph rises because of extra oxygen in the water, and your roots are going to love the extra oxygen. aeration may increase ph by a few tenths of a point and if that's a problem you can always add a little acid, but at the end of the day the added oxygen is more important than the increased ph.

an article on another website clearly states it. quote:
"You must pay careful attention to DWC plants to make sure they are not over-watered. Pull down water levels after plants take roots, and be sure to always balance water with a constant stream of nutrients. You must also monitor pH levels and replace your water when they get too high."....... so this clearly backs my statement that airation DOES raise ph!!!!

You're also forgetting the background on the whole idea...
You set your water out.. you bubble the shit out of it, or don't... and THEN you add your nutes and balance PH... so it doesn't really matter.. but good observation.

I got 2 big airstones going in each of my 30 gallon res. It's bubbling like boiling water...same in my DWC...my plants love it. I just check my PH. once a week and adjust if needed. I always heard the more bubbles the better? My roots are always real healthy too...huh.
