do people grow where smart meters are being used? everyone will have one very soon if you dont already , they are the digital meters

It's actually better to have the smart reader...the guys that check the meters don't have to go in your yard anymore to check it,they can get the reading on a hand held wireless device.....eliminating any chance of seeing or smelling something if he/she get's too close to your house.

I was a little worried about the smart meters because some paranoid part of me doesn't like the idea of someone remotely reading my water usage. Also, it wouldn't be horribly difficult for someone to hack together a device that could read your personal habits.

But, seeing as some water meters are located in basements, I think the smart reader is an awesome idea. No one has to come onto your property or into your home.

pay your bill on time and you got no probs. is pge (private for-profit business) gonna turn in someone whose using 10kw and paying their bill on time and in full every month? you keep your good customers...

at the end of the day its no differnt from the actual meter reading, just they dont have to enter your property?? they still know how much you consume and at what intervals. but they sound a better idea

ya i agree and ive always told myself no one cares about usage and pay my bill which happens like clock work . i just got my meter changed , i was just asking to see ppl think ...... with the older analog meters they cant see the 12hour pattern of 2kw hps and i want to add another 1kw hps or maybe even 2 . we will see what happens thanks for replies :bigjoint:

They might if they owned private prisons or shares in them. Wouldn't surprise me if the money behind them did.
