i dont :( how important are the trichromes for harvesting? will a few days make all the difference in the world?
Depending on the hit you want from your pot- milky coloured tric's= cerebral mainly, Dark =body stoned. Any earlier than milky and the resin content of the yield hasnt reached maximum.

If i were you, i'd wait for those light colored hairs to brown out a little bit, if it's still growing new hairs for sure wait a minute, you won't regret it. I think the number is what 75%? I mean, you want 75% of the hairs to be brown/red.

This advice is often bandied about and is incorrect; hair colour is irrelavant it is the colour of the trich's that is important.

Many people harvest by just the colors of the hairs. It is best to judge by the color of the trichs but most people get anxious and cut them too early. Get the microscope from Radio Shack and take a look at the trichs. Do this everyday until they are what you are looking for and cut it down.

if u dont have a fancy shmancy scope wait till they are at about 75-85% mature pistils and u wont regret waiting that extra few days. Despite what some ppl think this is an accurate way to determine maturity and harvest date. It has been practiced by many individual for many years all around the world. It just so happens that the maturation of pistils corolates with the maturation of the trichomes and the whole plant for that matter. However that being said using a scope to chek the gland heads and decide when to harvest is like having a calculator to do math, so u can get it pretty exact.
