Do you have to change lights on autoflowering strains?

I am attempting my first grow out of a aerogarden that i have modded to having a a 70 watt high pressure sodium bulb for a closet grow. I bought some autoflowering strains online and read that you could either leave it or change to a flowering bulb around two weeks? What would be the best solution. TIA

I dont think the OP is asking this question.

I think he is refering to the colour spectrum of the lights?

If so what is your HPS is it just red spectrum or dual spectrum?

I like dual spectrum lamps as they contain both blue and red spectrum ideal for both veg and flowering.

BUt you should be able to grow right the way through using your HPS.
However i would point out that you want something gentle for propagation but the 70w hps maybe ok for this but i dont know as i havent tried using a 70w i have a 600w.

But i use 2 different types of flouros during propagation and early veg stage

24w T5 6400k
200w ECO CFL

Then move to my 600w Dual spec HPS

it is a red spectrum hps. As for starting the early stages of veg. do you think the lights that come with the aerogarden would be ok?

This is all could find on it, i looked in the manual and nothing either but i had a friend that tried to grow with an aerogarden and he had no problems with his veg but when he tried flowering he switched lights and then the plant wither and died ( non auto flowering strain though)

Aeroponics The AeroGarden ® uses full-spectrum compact fluorescent bulbs exclusively designed for the optimumal amount and type of light needed for robust, healthy plant growth.

Grow bulbs are included with the AeroGarden ® kits, but should be replaced after 6 months for continued optimal plant growth.

Set includes 2 3U replacement bulbs.

I would just use it until you have around 4 nodes and then get them under your HPS.

Maybe 10 days to getting them under your hps.
