BE INFORMED: STAND UP TO STEVE SARICH
[Some] are fearful that Sarichwith his guns, his brashness, his entrepreneurial drive, and his circle of followers who look too young and healthy to need pot as medicinewill stir up a backlash against medical marijuana just as it seems to be gaining ever more legitimacy [Toke Stoking, Seattle Weekly, 2010].
I have done my fair share of investigating on Steve Sarich, and after seeing ads on Craigslist slandering 4Evergreen Group from him or his people I felt obligated to do something about it. Ive decided to look into things and, as I suspected, these are allegations made by a competitor a normal occurrence in the MMJ community.
4Evergreen Group is a marketing company that educates current and prospective patients about MMJ and also helps them connect with doctors. They do not manage patient files or records. There has never been an authorization or recommendation printed with their name on it. My friends who have dealt with 4Evergreen are at no risk of being investigated even if 4Evergreen was under investigation which they are not. This information is easy to come by. Just call them.
NWSDC (Northwest Stress Disorder Clinic) is one of the healthcare providers 4Evergreen works with and is also under attack. Sarich made a false accusation against some ARNP with the company and sent the DoH after them. Sadly for Sarich, the investigation was almost immediately dropped because the ARNP was not guilty of any wrongdoing and he still has his license to practice medicine.
This is where things get hairy. Steve Sarich is actually the one constantly under investigation for marijuana issues stemming from when he shot patients he authorized / former employees for him for trying to steal his plants. This is not surprising if you know Sarich was caught illegally possessing over 1,500 plants in 2007 [Drug Laws Should Matter, Even With Pot, The News Tribune, 2010].
Ive been tempted to ask him directly about whether he really thinks the 18 and 19-year-olds who nearly shot his head off and tried to rob him were really in need of the medical marijuana authorizations he helped them get [The Wrong Cure, Horsesass.org, 2010].
In addition, hes been accused of tax evasion and conspiracy. Because his clinic and dispensary (and his pornography studio) were in the same location [Medical Pot Community Poised for Huge Growth, The Seattle Times, 2010], Sarich surrendered all of his patient files to authorities. Does that satisfy the curiosity of those unfortunate Sentry Medical patients who have been continually raided since 2007? When they took his plants they took your records, too [Agents Raid Medical Marijuana Advocacy Office, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 2007]. Steve Sarich has sold out the entire MMJ community.
It can be easy to resort to extremism yourself, but all that does is play into the false frames that exist. Sarich falls into this trap all the time, and to make it even worse, hes constantly accusing nearly everyone else in the medical marijuana movement of trying to undermine patients whenever they strive for more moderate positions [The Wrong Cure].
Steve Sarich has used his money and false accusations to bully many legitimate Washington Co-ops, patient networks, and healthcare providers. Sarich has been the target of Federal and State investigations in Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and Spokane. Does the MMJ community really need this guy as a representative?
I think he hurts the cause These kind of shootouts and being involved with teenagers in distributing [pot] and cultivating it, it makes us all look bad [Medical Pot Community Poised for Huge Growth] .
I love what MMJ has done for me and my family. We need to take a stand and stop this guy from trying to get rid of everyone who actually cares about this movement. Stop letting Steve Sarich give us all a bad name. 4Evergreen, NWSDC, and the rest in the community are fighting for patients rights every day. Steve Sarich is wasting our time. Please stand up and be informed!
