if i have it running 3 times a day for 15 mins do i need an air pump?
It sounds like you are running an ebb/flow set up... is that right????:bigjoint:
ebb/flow? whats that:blsmoke:
Ebb/Flow works like this animated gif shows... the plants go in pots.. on the tray at the top......

Thats the one i'm running
Cool.. now we are all on the same page...

How long would it take for the nutes to be out of the water and do i need to add more other then when the plant is in a new cycle?
You need to measure EC or PPM in the water...

You need a PPM or EC meter to do this...

Guessing will only get you so far...

Get yourself a meter, then it's just a matter of maintaining the value...

If the ppm is low, add nutes.. if the ppm is high, add water...

Hope this helps...

Oh.. and what temp is the water in your res...

If you have cool water, there is no need for the airstone... ESPECIALLY if you let the water FALL back into the tank... making bubbles...

You only need an airpump if your water is not cool...

Ps. this is the meter I use.. it reads pH and PPM...
