Do you think cops REALLY nose around these forums?

I know what you mean... If my computer crashes and I can't fix it, I smash the hard drive into particles and most of the other components, all except the case and the fan...lol...
hah, I knew this one site that a virus programmer had, he had plans on there for a remote detonation of a grenade above the hard drive. I'm pretty sure he was serious about it too, wish I kept the plans to build it. I knew one guy who got so paranoid that he had an encrypted hard drive dedicated to viruses, he got so paranoid he ended up burying it for months on end because he though cops were gonna raid him

I would say hell yes there are cops here. How many threads are there for people asking to sell them weed?

Decriminalization and the 'medical marijuana' craze hascreated a false sence of security. There's no country in the world where weed is completely legal, including the US, and there's a lot of money in corrections trying to keep marijuana illegal, jails full and money flowing.
This forum is the most popular cannabis forum online with over 1,000,000 members and over 100,000 active users.
People are making transactions via PM everyday.
Fuck yeah the cops are here in one form or another, whether it's a computer program, or your favorite moderator pretending to grow and posting pics he took off some busted grower's camera.
If you don't think the cops are chillin, just rememer Overgrow.com.

I've never actually heard the whole story about overgrow.com. Could you please enlighten me? I only heard bits and pieces.

I'm sure cops Google search the name of the town the are in with MJ keywords attached.
Then when they MAYBE bust ONE guy, that city probably sees it as a big deal(Amazing website for leads), until they find out it's a dead end for a LONG TIME. Not many people talk about their city or anything :)
Well good luck finding me I'm in balls deep, you know head up interthighway till you hit vagina but I'm deep in the inner city, those dumb ass cops looking for me always fuck around get lost and end up in uranus. Dumb cops lol

1st, lol

Now, what exactly did I miss. I reread everything on page 7 yet I'm confused as to why he's mad. Allsmlizes, listen dude. I'm not saying what they did or didn't do was wrong or right, or purple or whatever, but you can't get that angry over stuff. No point.

From what I know overgrow was the biggest weed forum ever before weed forums were normal. ICMag was created from the ashes of overgrow.com. After the whole investiagtion was over they tried getting as much server info as they could because of the treasure trove of information overgrow had. If you can imagine, it was the 90's and the internet was really exciting and getting better and better. Growers and breeders from around the globe could get in touch with each other and swap seeds, pollen, cuttings/clones and information so much faster than before. Breeders like Chemdog, Swerve, Chimera, BOG and many others found their fame at overgrow.com.
Well it the value of the site wasn't lost on LEO, and as it turned out their suspicious were right. They started monitoring certain member's private messages and found there was a lot of underground dealing going on. I was only a freshman in high school (1998) when I discovered Overgrow so I wasn't in the know, but from what I've heard, it was practically a mail order clone and seed bank going on.
Well one day, I tried logging into my account only to get the old 404 error screen. I thought it was a mistake, but when I still couldn't log in a week later, I knew something had happened. Prop 215 had passed in California but weed wasn't nearly as accepted then as it is now and the site was taken down hardcore style lol.
They arrested the ste owners and confiscated the servers and computer hard drive.
There was a warning on a another site (i don't remember what it was) telling growers to bug out and go underground. So they did.
A lot of the great growers who were there never came back online from what I heard. It wasn't worth the risk for them. Shit was like the library of alexandria burning down, except for pot growers.
It was only after a few years that they were able to save some of the old information, which is probably why ICM kinda hold the monopoly on professional information imo. That's where the phrase 'overgrow the government' came from. It was sort of the rallying cry of the members.
Point is, that's not me being paranoid. That's a true story. Members were tracked. Arrests were made.
Cops are watching.
