The snide-arrogant attitude that is shown during the 'reporting' of TV news on the subject of MMJ drives me nuts. The power elite and wannabe movers and shakers put on a show every time the subject comes up to cover the facts with their spin to put the MMJ advocates into a bad light. Yes, getting a red card was terrifying for me too, I have met a few of the idiot-arrogant-entitled govt employees who handle this 'secure' paperwork and am not impressed by their ability to do their jobs correctly. I expect that the cops, both local and feds have already gained full access to the records and are just waiting for the opportunity to pick thru the records to use when it serves their own interests. I have spoken to 2 pot lawyers about the security of the red card database and they both advised that you should not be listed as both a firearms owner/concealed carry and red card holder because there will likely be a cross reference done in the future. Yes, there have been cases where this rights successfully defended in court, but keep in mind that the cops don't care about the outcome of the case particularly, they are just interested in seeing the traffic-ing of people thru the (their) system in order to keep their jobs secure so they can continue paychecks and pensions. The system needs fixing, but it won't be changing anytime soon. So, yes, you should be worried about having your name on a red card, but there is safety in numbers and if there are 1 million people registered it helps to dilute their ability to fuck with us. Still, some of us will get fucked with as that is how they feed their families.

You must of been talking about the part of the amanedment that says "NOTHING IN THIS SECTION SHALL BE CONSTRUED: (a) TO LIMIT ANY PRIVILEGES OR RIGHTS OF A MEDICAL MARIJUANA PATIENT, PRIMARY CAREGIVER, OR LICENSED ENTITY AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 14 OF THIS ARTICLE AND THE COLORADO MEDICAL MARIJUANA CODE" Because that's what my attorney was talking about it is a constitutional amendment which is open to interpretation by the judges who try cases involving it so I guess well see. Trouser your still a turd.

When I worked in the MMJ industry, I had the bad habit of speeding through several counties on the western slope and I got a handful of tickets during the course of two years. Whenever those small town cops saw the MMJ badge around my neck, I was guaranteed to get a ticket along with some intimidation and harassment. One of them even asked me if I happened to be getting high on my own supply while I was driving through his county. With those experiences in mind, I'm glad that the police can only access the registry to confirm if you're on the list. If they had it their way, that info would pop up on their computers along with the rest of your personal info whenever they pull you over. Regarding plant counts..........My wife always tells me that I'll never divorce her because it would lower my plant count. My mother-in-law is a real basket case and we're worried that she's going to end up moving in with us sooner rather than later. I told my wife that I'd be OK with it as long as I get to grow my mother-in-law's plants.
