does any one do this?

I was just wondering...

Much in the same way that people grow SOG indoors, flowering clones when they are just rooted only 8-12 in. tall, why couldn't you do the same outdoors?

If you have a plant that flowers in say 60 days, and you know outdoors it is supposed to finish around October, then why couldn't you take several well rooted clones and put them oustide in August. You would still be in line with the plants cycle, you just wouldn't have a very big plant. Does this idea work or produce any bud?

Yes, it is a great idea and I have seen many nice plants raised in this fashion.. One of my friends grows like this all winter... he has a deck and needs to keep the plants small (security), so he puts clones out on his deck and they go straight to flower.. he gets about 1 oz per plant..

cheers

I prefer planting outside late in the year. Keeps them smaller and less noticable since (at least in this area) the surrounding plant life is dying, but you go into the field and see 6 foot plants hovering over the dying growth when you plant early. Late and small is the deal.

I know outdoor plants have the potential to get bigger, but how much stretch would you expect to see from a 10in. clone???

Mine last year with the pot reached about 4 foot high and I planted them exactly around this time. About 3 oz a piece, i'm sure this is strain dependant.

I agree. Like those guys in Chicago, that got caught with over 10,000 plants in this forest reserve.....just too BIG..duh, your gonna get caught. Small is key to staying undetected.
