Hey guys! I finally got my internet up and running!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just researched a little bit about meditation, chakra, merkaba and other forms of spiritual cleansing. This topic seems very interesting and I'd like to learn more from the community here at RIU.

Also, can anybody hook me up with some resources to help me with meditation, something that's helped you?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-P

Even though I am on a long hiatus from my spiritual journey (physical life gets in the way),some things I should mention. Before session protect yourself with the "White Shield" technique. This is just thought projecting a shield of light that only vibrations of good may enter. This is mainly for astral travel but a trickster entity may take advantage of one in a medditative state aswell.Tricksters will repulse to words of God or love.Avoid caves, for naturally occuring Elemental entities can be tapped for energy by tricksters.A very basic spiritual lifeform,an elemental may unknowingly give a Trickster more power to deceive.
I say Google these things for meditation options.
creative visualization
dream journal
lucid dreaming
astral projection
and you may want to check out "Graham Hancock".He is researching ancient tribal rituals with natural hallucinogens.

Well, I do all these. But, I'm just not sure of the terms. I feel great. Am I balancing chakra? Do I have chakra? I don't know.
I do know you have to leave behind any and all these details. There are no elemental lifeforms. You don't need a shield. That is just more fear based western stuff.

I constantly meditate to experience Self as a powerful inner vibration. Is that the Word of God? The essential soul? I don't know. Not relevant. In meditation we do not think. Therefore it is not a spirit journey. What's that? Astral? What's that?

In my experience in this, from age 20, now 60, it can be just another religion. All external mind-capturing toy-like descriptions, the fantasy astral worlds, the spirits, the peyote, LSD, MDMA, etc. nothing is real when compare to indescribable Self Knowledge.

My advice is to sit and chant a basic vibration sound. Draw it out real long so you get a good deep breath each time.
Like Gooooooooooooooooooood, OR Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, or Oooooooooooooom.

Then IT will come to you. No worries. No seeking. No definitions. A new connection with Self. It is only because you spent your precious, finite time to train to duck thoughts.

Right. Don't think of pink elephants. :) There is no way to not think except to give the mind a repetition to follow so we can duck beyond the thoughts for a brief taste of raw Now.

But, Please believe me. Before enlightenment; chop wood, tote water. After enlightenment; chop wood, tote water. Life goes on.There is only your mind to make a difference between one journey and the another. I don't want to be thinking in fear when I die. This is the only way, I know. I can't buy these Holy comfort stories. I don't want a fantasy salvation. (from what?) I want to See for myself.

Meditation has taken me further than most things.. It takes a lot of patients and nowadays I don't do it near as much as Id like too. Its hard at first, but really its the easiest thing ever. Your just sitting there doing nothing right? Whats easier than that? I never did the chanting thing, but two things that helped me is to put on some white noise, itll drown out whatever is around you and be beneficial. Also you can use your surrounding noises as white noise. 'Focus on noises happening outside of your room' 'Drown out outside noises and focus on inside noises' repeat, turn into one. There are tons of fun things to do while meditating. And ocne you get into the rythm of doing it every night it will become increasingly easier, it takes practice like anything else.

If your very lazy though lucid dreaming is probably the easiest mind trick to do with yourself

Just put in ear plugs. There is all the Harmony one needs. The trick is to spend attention without concentration. to not fight the mind cloud, and not to ignore it. Impossible. But, a substitution. Something for it to do in repetition. Add a bold simple sustained vibration to stimulate the brain pan, pineal gland, etc and relax to the other experience of Self being there, while mind is busy, occupied with chants or inner listening, or breaths, etc.

All that other wooo description, perhaps, makes for some communication. But, it's not the description, the experience is all. Talk is good if it brings the desire to Do. Talk without Do is religion, I'd say. Anyone within my photon spray, can begin right Now.

Put yourself in a comfortable position. Close your eyes, observe your thoughts until you have none at all. Achieve no-thinking, stay this way for as long as you can without thought. Once you have a thought, start over.

Repeat.

Imo lucid dreaming is one of the hardest things to achieve, which is why i have only ever met 3 people in my life who have been able to become fully lucid (completely conscious) whist in their dream reality.

Ok,Islam Its cool to see another enthusiast of meditation around the forums. One thing to remember is do not complicate your efforts with ideas about chakras, beings and such its alot simpler than that stuff, but it requires a persistant effort.Like Strife suggested get into a comfortable position.I prefer sitting on something soft to support the lower back like a cushion from the couch what have you, keep the upper back straight and the lower back relaxed. One method is how he described to achieve no thinking, the way I started doing it was to sit in a quite room and listen to the quite lack of noise then begin imagining that quite noise of the room and multiply it or amplify the quite in your mind until your thoughts are absent and stay at this point and relax with control on breathing slowly but evenly. When a thought comes I just simply return to the silence of the room and repeat the process. If you cant find a quite place try what Doer suggested and get earplugs those work also. The point is to purge the thoughts slowly so your mind is at rest but not unconscious.Once you have become really adept to doing this you can move on to contemplative focus,I do this for uplifting my mood to something positive,i can only describe it as a sort of like lucid thinking or thought control so you dont think about random items at any given point,it takes a bit of time for this though, just start out with a clearing method first and youll find it incredibly refreshing.

Really? I mean come to think of it though, I only know a hand full of people too. One friend of mine loves talking about it we share our dreams with each other every time we see each other haha.. I know a couple others who have done it, but not regularly.

It happens to me in patches.. I'll get 4 or 5 in two weeks, then go months.. Its strange. Its always when Im all for mentally putting forth the effort though. Normally Im focused on other things.. Lucid dreaming is very fun though and just simply observing your dreams and writing them down is really interesting..

I do a lot of things throughout the day that helps increase the rate of which i will become lucid. For example, the more i try to move things with my mind in this reality, the more i will try to do it in my dream reality... when something actually moves, BAM! I know im in a dream. I do the same thing with trying to fly, or make bugs or other creatures do things with my mind. I know its not possible in this reality, but the more i do it, the more frequent i will do it in my dreams, the more often i will become lucid.

Another thing i do is check light switches, this is a really weird phenomena of dreams. I mean, i can fly into outer space, have an interesting conversation with an alien species, create energy balls out of nothing, but i can't change or adjust light levels? So what, but the point is. Whenever i go by a light switch, ill switch it on and off, or off and on. If the light doesn't change, i know im in a dream... or have a broken light bulb lol! Either way, hopefully you will figure it out ;)

There are also some pills you can take to increase the vividness of the dream, and known to increase dream recall. One is called melatonin which helps with the recall, but must be taken for a month every day to see real increases, and this is over the counter medicine.

Another is called seroquil taken at small doses. This is a prescription drug, and can have some negative side effects if taken for extended periods of time. This dramatically helps you become lucid, and intensifies the vividness of your dreams ten-fold.

Reality checks! Where its at man! I always just look around and check everything to see if it all makes sense. One thing Ive noticed is the more I read books in waking life the more I try and do it in the dream world. Reading books is always a good indicator. In a dream if you are able to read the book you can tell that your own mind is making it up. Its really strange. Most of the time though its all just symbols... Also perfect.

Nightly I take melatonin, 4-10mg is enough. My advise would be to go get the nanoplex liquid melatonin. Its expensive.. Like 30 dollars.. But it is much more potent. I get 6-7 hours a sleep a night and its more than enough. It naturally increases REM cycle so it makes sense. Also I take gingko biloba nightly. Most lucid dreaming herbs actually stop sleep cycle so that it is easier to do. Gingko just improves brain circulation. But I do notice a big difference. I recommend that one. Again its kind of expensive. I went out and bought a costco membership and its much easier. Pays for itself. The gingko I get comes in a bottle of 300 pills with this other stuff called vinpocetine. Its all very worth it.

Its weird how substances effect lucid dreaming. Even taking a tolerance break off marijuana will make your dreams super vivid

I usually rotate weeks, 2 weeks smoking, two weeks off smoking... its hard for me to decide what i like better, being high in my waking life, or being lucid in my dream state hehehe.

Good stuff bro, good stuff.

I just woke up from a dream where i escaped from jail and ran like 5 miles through cornfields avoiding people, then my older brother got caught and i had to bail him out, and when we tried to run for it they hard guards with flashlights all over the fields, woke up right before i got caught, for some reason i didn't realize i was dreaming... should have though, but it seemed like something my older brother would get me into lol. Just wanted to share, night bro, hope you have a lucid one.

Personally I would recommend this music: http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6445707/Chris_Spheeris_-_The_best_of_Christ_Spheeris
You don't have to download it, if you don't have a torrent downloader, I'm sure you can find all his music on youtube.
I would also recommend this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Astral-Projection-Out-Body/dp/0738704679
One of the best I've read, and it helps with everything to aligning your chakras to OBE to meditation.
My natural element is fire.
Going for a tarot reading tonight from my sister. I did my own last night and cried my eyes out, but she is better than it that I am so yea.

Thats a good idea! Haha what happens to me is I go smoking until I am broke, then get more money in my pocket, then go broke again.. -.- Never in danger of any financial crisis, but I always go through a period of I NEED TO SMOKE, to a period of ITS A WASTE OF MONEY.. Then repeat.. maybe every other month or so.

Whats up with figures of authority in dreams? Is it a sign of anxiety?

Last night I had a dream where I was at this festival or something, and all these people were trying to murder me the whole time. There were storm troopers involved.. Wizards.. My third grade teacher? She tried to help this bitch who I was propelling away with some energy that burst from my chest sending people flying(like on skyrim). I have no idea what I was after or anything.. Just constant stress of thinking I was going to die.

Green - Im gonna have to buy that book, you said it helped you? Astral projection is something I need to focus on more I think...
