We (Draig and I ) Have used it and done side-by side grows with and without it for 8 years.
I KNOW some people don't believe in using it ... but it DOES work, and you are not supposed to use it once the plants are in full flower-- just in Veg & transition. It doesn't effect the taste of the plant unless you over-use it, use it in flower, and don't flush your plants!!!

It is for real. Many horticulturists have used the stuff for years. It is not a cure all. but for new growers it CAN really take the edge off stressful situations. Stop use after the first week of flower. A drop a gal is all that is required, I use at 2/gal. and when i take clones. a drop in tthe water I place the cutting in before the rooting hormone.

I did side by side cloning with plain pH'd water vs pH'd water w/ superthrive vs pH'd water w/ 1/4 veg nutrient solution and the clones that got the SuperThrive solution did the worst. (100% success rate but they were the slowest to root)

For what it's worth, though, the bottle of SuperThrive that I used on that experiment was fairly old.

So for cloning I'm not sold on it, but for transplant shock it's great, especially if you aren't excellent at transplanting gently.

edit: oh and the experiment was in rockwool cubes soaked for 30 minutes in the solutions, pH'd, then drained the excess water out of the cubes down to 35-40g weight of the cube, misted with plain water, humidity dome, heating mat, Rootech rooting hormone gel, all clones rooted before needing any additional water except the superthrive solution (I tore the rockwool off the bottom of 2 of them and planted the rootball into soil and it caught up much faster).

I plan to redo the experiment with a new bottle of SuperThrive because I'm not too confident I even know how old that bottle was.

Don't use it for germination or in flower.
The most you ever want to use is 5 drops per gallon, but one drop is sufficient.
I use it as a foliar spray on stressed plants and for misting cuttings; I think this is what it is intended for.

I wasn't aware that it could affect the flavor.

I'm not convinced that it does much of anything to your grow, but I've never done a test to see since I've always used it. One bottle lasts a great while and I purchased a bottle when I was beginning growing, lol.

I use it in early veg and in cloning. A little bit goes a long way. It is good for stress/transplanting but like already mentioned, its not a cure all.

It's great for transplants, never used it during flowering anything but always after I transplant.
