Jiffy Seed Starting Mix
A 100% Organic Greenhouse Quality Mix

I bought this soil and would like to know if anyone has had experience with it? I am thinking this might be a good soil for mature plants as well. This is what the bag says in regards to the soil content.

45% sphagnum peat moss, 55% vermiculite and lime. I added perlite to it as well in order to allow air to reach the roots.

Please give me your input on this soil.

Add a ton of perlite to it because the peat moss is going to hold a shit-ton of water and you may see some white mold on the top of your soil because of it. To help prevent that, put a good 1/2-1 inch of perlite on top and bottom of your soil so it has excellent drainage. I mixed too much of that seed starter (peat moss mostly) into my soil and learned my lesson the hard way heh. Peace. =)

Then perhaps it is a good clean soil at which you can add ferts to. That is the best way any way - make the npk custom to what you want it to be right off the get go.

Thats what I do get good "clean" dirt and apply ferts as needed or wanted.

I used it that mix for starters awhile back. I had a hard time with it. Was too light for me and didn't hold moisture. Imo. You'll probably have better luck than me.
