Does Anyone use an RCD plug?

Hi, just wondered if anyone uses an RCD plug on their lights? (i.e. - those plugs you might use on a lawnmower etc)
I was wondering if anyone uses them on their relay or ballast before plugging in to the wall. If so, does it work ok? and what light set-ups are you using? Thanks

I mean electric lawnmowers, hedge cutters, or anything electric really, where there may be a power surge.
