Does CO2 prolong harvest?

I'm wondering if co2 prolongs harvest. My last grow I did not have constant co2 and my crop finished very quickly. After adding adequate co2 on this crop and currently in (week 6) of flower i've noticed that the crop isn't nearly finished as it was last time. Honestly they look about a week behind the last crop.

The only thing I did different was vegg for an extra week. Would an extra week of vegetive growth prolong harvest?

I was under the impression that CO2 hastened the cycle somewhat. You growing the exact same strain/cut both times with meticulous data or good pics or just "feelin' it"?

C02 helps with the plant grow faster bigger stronger and yeild more.. If co2 is less then a certain amout the plant will pretty much stop growing..

its realtive to the overall growth of the plant.. if all the plant has acess to co2 less of it is ripening because it is still growing... this is why i have never went with fully sealed rooms always exhaust at nite if you want a more natural ripening time... although allowing a plant to take its time with co2 like 12 weeks+ will give you massive yeilds... also helps from thc coverting into cbd cbn... theres alot of info and research done on this already mostly on lettuce, when you say a week behind i hope you just mean ripeness and not size? and temps got be jacked to get full use of that co2... which plays into transpiration and humidity.. which translates to plants that are transpiring are less likely to ripen as pores are still active.. i keep a good swing of temps hi and low(65 up to 85) and vent at certain time of the day and dehumidify....

My bio might be out of date, but co2 is used to form atp/glucose ie energy for the plant. How that energy is used is probably related to the hormones of the plant. That said, if the plant is pushing its energy towards flower production that's where the extra energy would go.

Just my 2 cents

edit:

to answer the question, as far as I would venture to guess -- it shouldn't make enough of a difference that the harvest would take longer.

thanks for the responses. My room is totally sealed but I do have an option for venting.. I personally believe that the co2 is offsetting the ripening, I did mention a week behind. I meant a week behind ripening not size..Size has def. increased but I believe the extra week of veg played a huge role in increased size and weight. After seeing day 42 of flower from last grow and day 42 (which) is today of the current grow, the ripening is def. delayed since adding adequate co2 levels of 12-1300ppm.

I would like to point out that mj uses co2 only when the lights are on. In darkness mj uses oxygen. Be sure the added co2 is removed from the room before the hps goes off.

This is my 2nd time growing the current strain, i've added Molasses and costant co2 at levels as high as 1400ppm. I am currently flushing the harvest right now with organic nutrients. I have noticed that the ripening time has slowed by a week possibly because of co2 and the smell has got a lot stronger than last grow, either that or my can air filter is starting to fail me at less than a year old. Yield is up but due to an extra week of veg most likely.
