does flushing help defficiencies?

so if i believe i have a defficiency, then should i flush or just whip up another batch of nute solution. the reason i ask is because if the plant is already lacking something, i question how giving it only fresh distilled water would help any, i can only see this help during nutrient burn. any response would be great.

flushing is probably the safest thing to do, because nute deficiency and too much nutes causes the same symptoms. so i dont think you can go wrong with flushing. im not an expert, but thats what ive seen in all the grow guides.

Flushing doesn't fix deficiencies! But it may cause them, because it leaches suspended solids out of the soil. It's sort of like taking a laxative - it doesn't nourish you - it just gets rid of the old shit!

I would say use a less concentrated nute solution, just in case it's to much nutes you wont completely fuck it up, just start small and watch it.

Flushing done properly will help cure 90% of problems. Whoever gave you the idea you flush with plain water or plain distilled water or plain ro water is plain wrong. You flush with a 1/4 strength nute solution, at two times the capacity of the container. If you use plain water, it seems like the plants keep what they have, thinking they may not get anymore, BUT if you use a 1/4 strength nute solution they think they are going to get more and will give up what they have. Sometimes you can have a 'salt' build up, flushing will take care of that. Fact is the only problem it won't help cure is poor drainage and I personally quarentee that if you flush your plants like I described you will know if you have a drainage problem. VV
