i have my fans setup on the same timer as my lights. i have a 4" circulation fan that runs 24/7 on low. this works for me just fine.

Well, like previously stated, the more fresh air the better. Continuously exhausting the stale air and bringing new air in is ideal, 24/7. A fan should not be the source of heat at night lol. Maybe you have a red hot mag ballast or something.

True, you dont need it, but think of it like this: If you sit in an enclosed room with other people for 12 hours, the air is going to get nasty, even with fans blowing. But when someone opens a door or window and lets a breeze in, that fresh air feels so much better than the stale air getting blown around by just the fans.

...imo, plants need co2 for potosynthesis not oxygen. If the lights are not on, no co2 is needed. Plants are said to make their own co2 during sleep hours also. If you ever decide to upgrade to an airtight room using co2 enhancement, we turn the co2 off at night.
...freash air set ups allow you to control your humidity better, so if your not running a good dehumidifier, I'd keep all the fans on as much as possible to prevent powdery mildew/bud rot.

No, it's in a cold basement and the temperature has droppped to as low as 54 degrees before, but usually just to like 57 or so... I know it shouldn't go below 60, so that's what i meant.
