Does LED lighting effect more stretch?

My plants are stretching like crazy. A 2 foot plant will almost double in hight in the first few weeks of 12/12 light cycle.
It seemed to me, before the leds, I was using HPS, they stretched, but not double, perhaps a third, a quarter more.
Is the LED helping to allow more stretch?

My light: 6 Cree 3590(3500K) running at 52 watts each in a 3x3 tent.

Same strain grown the same way?? I'm also new to cobs and was hoping for less stretch..

whats the distance from canopy to lamp?

I grew: one plant, no training, under a cfl = x2 stretch
the same plant (reveg after harvest), scrog, under a 660w led = x1.33 stretch.

Personally, so far my plant is stretching less under LED. But that could be caused by a number of things other than light source. I neglected my plants the first time... the second time I did things right....

I kept the LED 24 inches from top of the Canopy the whole time with LED (i wanted them to stretch more...)... it didn't work...

So i have no idea how to get more/ less stretch... I am interested to see other people's results

Under LED I always got about double after 12/12 with hybrids. Indicas stop pretty quick. Shorten the veg time with the hybrids and it's a good thing.

The light you veg them under has a huge impact, what are you using? I use 8 x 3590 cobs in a 3x3 and don't get much stretch and my distance is 6-12 inches. Late into flower i'm able to place it closer without burning. Doubling is normal.
