It depends on the fertilizer you use. Tobacco causes cancer because the fertilizer contains the isotopes Lead 210 and Polonium 210. Go ahead and search it guys. There are confirmed studies. So it's the same thing with weed.

I think all the comparisons between carcinogen levels in marijuana vs tobacco are bogus because you can just eat pot. Problem solved and cancer thwarted.

I know this guy from Africa, hes been my good friend for about a few years now. He moved to the states in the 70's, so he spent quite a bit of his life out there. Me and him toke all the time, and he tells me stories of how everyone lives longer out there because they smoke, and most people do not realize this. I brought up the whole cancer thing with him last night actually! And he said "Naw man! Thats all bull!" I asked why, if there is this and that pointing to the fact that it may if you smoke it, and he said NO! without hesitation. He told me of all the old men in his old home who would sit outside their homes, in thier 80's and 90's toking it up. Its not legal there, but people tolerate it. He said it keeps them hungry, and most older folks die because they do not eat much as they get older, and smoking fixes that! And he said he's never known anyone in Africa in his 30 or so years of living there that had cancer, and almost EVERYONE there smokes!

I hold the belief that cancer is distinctly genetic. People can go their whole lives and never smoke or drink and die of cancer, or they can go like my grandpa - smoked most of his life, drank like a fish, the only thing he ate that wasn't fried in some way was cornbread. Two strokes and 5 heart attacks, but never cancer.

Recent studies have shown people who smoke cannabis have a lower incidence of lung cancer than people who don't smoke at all.
Outside of the fact it's been shown clinically to kill cancer cells in a variety of methods, it's a potent antioxidant. There is no doubt it is beneficial to consume. Probably not so much to smoke on its own as smoking can and does cause other issues in itself.
