Does pot size matter?

Yes the rule is one plant per pot due to fighting for food and room. it will show mostly in yield as the plants deplete the smaller area of food and steal water from each other. The yield and potency will show greatly as a single plant would have yielded much better. Unless you get into the larger 30 gallon plus containers then 2 is ok but they still crowd each other
Well Filthy, my Diesels are in a 10 gallon container, as seen in the pix. I realise that 1 plant per container will ALWAYS out grow & out produce a double up. But they are NOT doomed to some botanical hell & failure. My reason for the double potting of clones is SIZE control of the ultimate mature plants. This method has served me well for many years.
Good luck & good grow.......BB

I assume a 3 or 5 gallon container not bucket since they are bigger would do for me. i wonder if between a 3 or 5 would make a difference in yield plus i only plan to veg for a month to control height and its an indica sativa hybrid...
O.K., Now my "nit-pic" hackles are really up! 5 GALLONS means 5 GALLONS! Pot, Pail, Bucket, Container, Gas tank, or Beer stein, if it's properly rated at 5 gallons, then it should have a capacity of guess what? 5 GALLONS!
There is confusion in the way nursery's rate their pots-containers-whatever. They use 4", 6", 8", 12", etc.
A 16" nursery pot will hold 22 qts.(4 1/2 gallons). So my point is Duke23, a 5 gallon container will NOT hold anymore than a 5 gallon bucket, at least thats the way it works in my world. For a little education try this: http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/contain/msg071634112151.html
Good luck & good grow to all.......BB

Your absolutly right in larger containers you can put 2 plants in and they are not doomed its like you said it will make them smaller and in less room but in relation as you said it does loose yield and it also has been proven that potency suffers so it can be done but isnt optimol by any means. Yeah seems a lot of folks not familar with nursery pot size vers bucket sizes lol Most nurseries use either Liter sizes or diameter size not gallon size like buckets
