Does sativa take longer to flower of longer to ripen?

RIU My only plant from bagseed showed 2 very TINY white pistils (they are way more tinier than those i seen in any site i.e. no bristle on the pistil tip) during 5th week veg period 24/7. i veg`d for another week b4 going 12/12, 13days into dark found another set of tiny pistils like the earlier ones (no significant sign of any growth on that first pair of pistils which by now one of the hair turned red/brown), now been 18days 12/12 but still no additional hair but lots of female liked preflowers on 1st and also secondary branch nodes.

Lights and nute:
Veg: 8 soft whites 23w each (NPK 21-21-21)
Flower: 2 45w + 4 23w warm whites + 2 23w soft whites (NPK 14-24-17), 12/12 moved gradually to 11/13, no light leaks.

fyi it mutated since birth growing into 2 stem stalks and each stalk are now with 22-24 primary nodes quite bushy plant, currently 22" in height with LST. only water when top 2 inch is dry. sry no camera for pics.
so i am wondering why they are not flowering???? any1

Have you checked there is no light leakage coming in when your plant is in dark cycle? If you do have light coming in then the plant will take it as its still in veg... Do some checks if ya haven't already.... But to answer your question if Sativa takes time to flower. Then depending on the strain then yes they take a bit longer... Research is the key my friend.

Unfortunately this information is incorrect

Sativa average flowering times are between 13-17 weeks dependant on conditions.
Indica average flowering times are between 9-12 weeks dependant on conditions.

Take DanTheBulls advice.

Check for light leaks.

checked and nope no light leaks as i tied an additional cloth to cover up the closet...closet's in my room does sound waves affect flowering? as i have my tv on even when they on the dark period.
research tells me they take longer to finish than indicas but doesnt specifically indicate pistillating time.

temps should be ard 30-33C daytime and 18-20C at night, have a ceiling fan that i on twice a day.

My brother is currently flowering some white berry sativa and his showed pistols and bud formation after 2 weeks in to flower. I dont think the soundwaves will affect them in any cycle on the contary if you play them soft music they grow better. A quick watch of mythbusters will prove this.

Other than that mate i think its just a waiting game. sure they will show soon if they have already prodused some pre flowers.

could also be your small lights that you are using.

I personally use a 200w ECO LIGHT 6400k for a little veg time and then an HPS dual spectrum lamp for some continued veg and then flower using the same Dual spec lamp.

When you choose to do things small using small wattage CFL's then it can take longer for the plant to start to do anything.

Your plants arent getting a great deal of lumens for those small cfls so you have to be prepared to wait.

It takes me approx 10days to get plants to show their sex after i switch to 12 12 and thats using a 600w dual spec lamp.
It then takes another 7days to start getting a decent amount of bud formation.

Just be patient if you want to continue using these lights. You could find that you may have to flower for an altogether longer flowering period in order to get the growth you are expecting.

thet take longer to start to show flowers and they can take as long as up to 14 weeks pending on how dominate the strain is

MY sativa took 26 days to show pistils. I was really starting to wonder. Its been 10 days since the pistils showed and I got 12 bud sites growing rapidly. Be patient man it will come. Males show first so I think you got a female.

So do you count the flowering from day 1 of 12/12 or from the day the first pistils show?
