Does spraying your plant with water protect it from a hard freeze?

So we have a hard freeze coming up low of 26-28 for one night and I am wondering if this will help. 2/3 of my garden will be chopped before this happens but the other third needs more time.

Umb it's my understanding that water freezes when it gets cold enough like ice for example ......water also equals bud rot and mold issues ......just get some bags and cover them the best you can and or try to insulate the root zone .....don't spray them with water IMO

What do you recommend to cover 8ft plants? Im going to water with warm water at 8pm the night in question then cover the soil with straw. So the roots should not freeze. Btw these plants are 100% indica. So they can handle cold. They have already wwnt threw a 30 degree night with no wilting or druping that seemed fine!

If you know it's guna freeze for sure try to find some large clear plastic garbage bags to put over the top of your large colas ......that will help out a lot if you can tent off most of the plant ......just get the bags off before it gets warm again .....don't know about warm water when watering but the straw will help ....GL

I heard some one on the threads say that if you spray them down with water before the sun comes up it helps allot

Do whatever.. But don't spray them with water

I would just put garbage bags of whatever size best fits either plant or branches on them. Keep the cold air off
As mentioned
Big bed sheets have worked well for me

If you wanna walk around with a tiki torch.. Go for it
The lights not an issue
