Does the brown stripes on stem mean male?

No.....could be male or female....your gonna have to wait for preflowers.....its from regular seed right? What I find with plants before preflower stage is that the girls tend to stay kinda squat with tight internode spacing while the males grow taller faster with larger spacing between internodes...... but certain lighting factors can make females grow quick and tall as well.....making it hard to tell what it might be......until preflowers actually show up.....I like to look at my plants and based on certain characteristics I will label what I think they are just for practicing identifying them based on growth characteristics....its just my way of honing my identificatiion skills....I have pretty good results BUT I am wrong from time to time so again...PREFLOWERS PREFLOWERS PREFLOWERS are the only true way to know.....

I saw your thread about hunting mushrooms and I was going to say that I have a friend that used to do that and make his own tea. I was wondering what a home grow of mushrooms would look like.

That girl looks nice and do you see right off the bat what I mean about the growth pattern....tight internodes ..bushy....just by looking at the one you asked about,,,if I was gonna guess based on how it looks...I would say male...again...just a guess
I hunt mushrooms ....love to be out there . They sell the kits for ALL types of mushrooms....that would be a good back yard project!!! Mushroom Perfecti. com

I cant say that I have experienced that.....well.....you said half the time they turn out to be males....perhaps there is some truth to that since my experience is that it is pretty common to get about a 50/50 male female ratio from any given number of regular seeds....however I have been able to increase those numbers by making some micro enviorment changes to my veg/start room.....giving me more females.

Those brown stripes on the stem, as well as the dark leaf stem indicates a nutrient dificiency. Probably phos.

I would agree....something along those lines but I have never or cant even say that brown stripes have nothing to do with a plant being male or female.

I am going to keep just to see what it will be but I have grown only two times and they had brown stems and were female but not brown stripes on main stem. It probably is a phosh def because its 12/12 since seed and I have only fed molasses and water so its time for shultz bloom plus 10-54-10
