Does the cable company have the power to enter your house?

RIu, I was just watching two cable company bucket trucks right outside my residence. Then one of the workers came to my door. He said that my cable modem maybe blocking a transmission to other cable modems in the area and he wanted to come in and check. I told him that my internet was fine, and something about they will be calling me. The cable company can't issue some warrant to come into your house can they? For a moment I thought he could be an undercover and just looking for evidence.

Your ballasts (if you have them) could be sending interference into the cable line.

But no, they cannot enter your house. Worse they will do is just disconnect your line.

I'd pass him the modem and all of the other retarded cable crap including the wire. I plug my desktop into my cell.

Yeah fuck that, sounds like a scam to try to break in. Could be legitimate but any company will call you before they plan to stop over.

Dont trust em or let em in. They cant just come in.

My ballast is several feet away from the cable line, how far can they be before caused interference? Thanks I believe the cable company called ingress interference.

I'm not sure about the distance, you may want to research it. I had a couple of digital Lumatek ballasts at least 20-30 feet from the cable line and they disconnected my line and the only way they would reconnect it was if they could come in my basement and find and fix the problem. I canceled the service and got DirectTV instead.
