only 1 plug needed per light build, you can chain together the cobs, if your diy cob light has 2 cobs, you will use only 1 plug, if your diy cob light has 6 cobs, you will use only 1 plug

While I havent built my own light but I can tell you stripping wires with your teeth isnt smart.

I do electrical repairs at work everyday,and I can tell you a $5 pair of combo wire stripper/cutter is alot cheaper than a trip to the dentist for a chipped tooth...just sayin guys..

Tim, in your opinion would it ever be appropriate to mix and match vero 29 v2s with cxb3590 COBs on the same light? Not sure why I/anyone would even want to but it was a curious thought. I noticed when thinking about getting optic lights that there was a trade off between PAR and Lux when using these two. I am about to pull the trigger on buying 6 A51 W90s for a 4x4 scrog grow, and was crunching some numbers on a DIY. If my back of the hand calculations are right I could build a light with 10 COBs for damn near the same price... oh but the value of time.. Anyways, I was just curious what your opinion was on having a light with various COBS??

I realize that I can build my own light for cheaper. At the time I wasn't looking to do a DIY as I had my hands full with other projects and work. Regardless of the start up price, I don't have any regrets. My post was to show the lights have a great deal of potential. Even though i'll be putting together a DIY with 3590s I'll be happy using these W90s for a long time to come.

all of us who have built cree cobs have no doubts of thier growing potential, its very nice that companies are now building and selling them as well, your buds look fantastic, it is nice that those who either cant build thier own light can now get thier hands on cob panels, I wish my first light would have been a single W90 instead of that mars bluurple thang ,, grrrr,, lol

Thanks. Rereading my post I hope it didn't come across snarky, that was not my intent. A lot of people here on RIU have been a great help in offering advice to me while I was getting my indoor set-up started. I was just trying to give back in any way I could. I know when I was first looking and had A51 recommended to me I couldn't find any posts of actual grows with them, let alone a grow with W90s used start to finish. Although, this is my first indoor grow so not sure I should be trying to offer up any advice yet. Just showing what an indoor amateur can do with them. Now that I have a little more time on my hands i'm excited to get started on that 3590 build I mentioned earlier. Should be a fun project..

what meanwell driver would you recommend for the set-up you have here?

Are the two cxa3070s going to be better than the single vero 29 in the area 51?

I was considering the area 51 for my next grow. I'm trying to light a 2x2x6 and am tired of a 100x3 mars old old style. taking off the glass, moving it 8 inches away, upgrading the fans, and i still have to run the ac all the time to my little .5gpw grow to keep it cool enough (I heard it only actually is around 120watts).

And thanks a lot man, you don't have to help out all us newbies to led fixture making and i appreciate you passing on the information!!!
