you can grow bagseed and have a much better product then it was in the bag. but not just the grow. you have to dry and cure properly.

the strain matters as to taste, smell, and type of high you want, size of plant and flowering time.

to be sure buy some good seeds from a quality breeder.

well if it taest like blue berry then it must be blue berry, there fore you cant make bag weed any better than what it is other than picking it at the wright time. Gennetic is every thing, just like any other thing, some are better than others.

I say its the way you grow the plant beause I have grown both nammed and unnammed strains with the same success rate and results but ofcoarse the bud is always slightly different.

You can grow good weed bad and bad weed good, the only thing you can do is give the plant the best enviroment to grow in. So yes you have to have a strain that when it gets everything it needs it will turn out dank. If you give a random bag seed the best enviroment to grow in you will get the best weed that seed can give. There is a reason the cannabis cup isn't about how the weed is grown but WHO it's parents are

It's all about the genetics. Sure, there are exceptions but as a rule, the better the genetics the better the plant. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit. The better the genetics the more consistant your plants will be. If you buy a pack of Serious seeds and grow them out, you will usually get 2 types of phenos. If you buy a cheap seed like Nirvana and grow out a pack you are liable to get 10 different phenos. With Serious seeds, you will always get a pheno that is "mother quality". With Nirvana, you will be lucky if you get a "mother quality". Again, there are exceptions to this rule but once you have your enviroment dialed in, genetics is the most important aspect to your garden.

The way its grown/dried/cured has a lot to do with the final product, but most has to do with genetics. Solid genetics usually mean solid smoke.

The strain makes a major difference IF you want something more than just a physical alteration.

If you like a sativa high you would not want to grow a Kush and if you wanted a mind numbing incapacitating body stone you would not grow Kali Mist.

You cannot turn one strain or type of marijuana into another just by how you grow it.

If all someone wants is an altered physical being than virtually any strain will do for you but if you have likes and dislikes or needs and tastes that you want to satisfy then the person needs to research strains and purchase wisely.

doesn't matter if it is bagseed or clone... there is nothing you can do to improve the genetics.
you can change lighting, mediums, food, temps... no matter what you cannot change what it is the plant is.

the plant is everything,

I like the 'good weed badly/ bad weed good' comment...a perfect example was the 1st. and last time I'll ever buy weed from the dispensaries- I bought a gram of trainwreck, and it gave me a couchlock buzz.-taste free, hydro CRAP!!!!.I'm used to trainwreck turning me into gilligan on high speed!...as far as seed companies and strains go: not every jordan is michael jordan! I'm into individual plants..and the more pheno's to choose from means just that...I find my keepers, and clone the sh#% out of 'em. sure, f2's and brand name knockoffs may be unstable, but there's usually a prodigy in every family.
