Does this look like a good setup?

I wanted to post these here before i get them and see if anyone has any feedback first. I want to grow 2 plants in this set up. I live in a non medical non legal state so I want to make sure it's a good setup especially along the lines of stopping the smell.

not going to lie to yah
i hate those cheap ass tents .......they do not last and most of them are poorly designed....with that being said yes it can work and no i would tell u to get something much better ...it is a investment u want to make only once

as for your filter and fan combo they are ok i would tell u to get this filter

they make a refillable filter .......so when the carbon gets used up u can just empty it out and replace it with new active carbon (saves u money)

the fan ......i would tell u look for any active air fan (they are rated the quietest natural) mine has lasted 5 years

Double ended......these are the new guys for home use they are used in pro grows (they get better
Single ended .......this is the most common

if u are really going to do this and possible make a go at for money i would tell u to buy a select a watt ballast
galaxy ballast or solis tek ballast (i like solis tek )
just know if u do get the cheaper one all good .....just rem to always run it on 100% power (dim able ballast damage the bulbs the bulbs are not made to run at lower power when u do run it lower like 75% the light waves it admits are off the spectrum u want and it shortens the life of the bulb .....it is made to work at a set watt and amp when u do not allow it too just messes it up

Thanks, I really appreciate the help. It's ok don't lie to me. I basically just want to be able to grow enough that I have at least 2 ozs a month to smoke. I don't plan to make money off it all but I do plan to save money by no longer buying. Prices here are INSANE. So I'm willing to put as much into this as is needed to make it safe and get good results and no smell.

All those things you linked looked solid. I couldn't find any 400 w solis tek or galaxy ballast but how about this one? http://growershouse.com/phantom-dial-a-watt-digital-ballast any good?
What reflector/hood would go with it good?

2 oz a month is the goal
a 400w is not going to do it for u ,,,,,,,400 will do 1 plant great 2 plants good
see photo plants need 4-6 weeks veggie and 8-12 weeks in bloom before u cut and harvest .....they use 2 different time table 18/6 veggie and 12/12 flower so doing them in the same area requires a divider so light does not leak during the off hours...basically means need 2 areas to keep a rotation going

for a small op like this for personal supply in limited room u should think about Auto flowers .......they do their own thing based off feed and time most are 65-78 days seed to cut ......this means u can do both veggie and bloom in the same area same light time table under the same light

for this reason i will tell u to go LED plus that tent u picked and the fan u picked (rem to get a speed controller .....u can lower the speed of the fan to keep the walls from concaving in)

cheap generics ......they have a good balance of blue to reds ....i used them with good results ..

2 300 watts will make u more then u need with the right auto flower seed in a 5 gallon planter ........plant one wait 24 days plant the second one that way the first comes up u harvest the 2nd is coming up by the time u finished the smoke of the first ....just keep planting ...1 light per plant in that tent u should get 4 to 6 ozs per plant once u learn feeding (2nd grow will be better then first type of thing as u learn feeding the plant to boost what it does)

i am telling u this to save u money the LED lights are good for 50k plus hours as the bulbs are good for about 12k hours (rated for 20k but unless u boost the watt the filament gets wore and the light waves shift after 10-12k hours) ........plus the led is going to make less heat so that is less cooling u have to worry about

Hmm really interesting thanks! I had been thinking about led because theyre not as hot but I thought HID was suppoused to be better unless i spent $600+ on leds lol. Good news and I think I will give this a try.

With leds and tent size what speed would I keep it on? Or do I just have to experiment?

If I use 2 of those 300w leds will the vegging plants be ok shorter and farther away from the light because of the flowering two? Or would I need to elevate them up to the leds somehow?

Think I can reach those goals and have good quality buds with this set up? Would a 600 watt hps along with a small tent or box for vegging instead of led get me better results?

I think I will have to stand inside the main tent ziped up to harvest and dry them in there too lol. Or get another tent just for that with a filter I guess..

it all depends on the temps of the outside air u are pulling in ......the 4 inch fan is 170 cfms 180 ....shoot for 100 cfms low medium

as for the lights they would be on rachet ropes so u can raise and lower them as needed ........the 2 lights are for the flowering so when it does go into flowering it gets a whole light to get tight buds using the 2nd light to grow one up in veggie

as for hid they are better area of coverage but to do them and auto u would be best to go 1000w and a dual arc bulb(dual arc is a 1000w bulb but it is made of a 600w hps and 400w mh all in one )....a 1000w bulb is great for a 4x4 good for a 5x5 .......600w bulb is great for a 3x3 good for 4x4 ...a 400w is great for a 2x2 good for a 3x3

led gets u better depth then a hid does ......like a 90% tight 10% fluffy buds where hid is like 70% tight and 30% fluffy

as for these lights and reaching your goals .....yes it is more then possible there will be a learning curve ......u need to learn to feed the plants to get the best out of it....it takes me 2 or 3 grows to really get good at a strain

as for the dry and cure part .......i use a 2nd tent just for that a carbon filter hooked to a 4 inch booster fan ......a dry cure rack with a fan inside that moves on 2 axis .....get a digital humidifier to keep it at 50% when to dry and a small bath dehumidifer when it over 60%
