They flush tobacco. When growing tobacco, a 1-2 week flush is used at the end to create "smoother" tobacco for "a better burn", something about nitrogen starvation to promote ripening.. Maybe this is why so many people seem to believe in the value of flushing a plant you plan to smoke?? i believe it's known as leeching or leaching. Any chance any tobacco growers are around?? Wanna chime in??
I'm not for or aganist flushing, do not have enough personal experience. But I do love trying things out, if you never try, you never learn.

Who's "they"? And how do they flush a field of plants rooted in the ground?
I've also looked into this and from what i can remember, tobacco growers strictly feed only what the plants need.
I'd love to read more about what you just said

" They" would be tobacco growers or employees of tobacco growers. I've never grown tobacco, so again, no personal experience, but I believe tobacco is grown in very sandy, loose soil. Whatever watering system is setup for normally watering just gets left on longer, and the water helps carry away excess nutrients which drains through the sandy loose soil..?? As far as only feeding strictly what the plants need, sounds like that's what all farmers do, no matter what crop?? Anyone know any tobacco farmers??

Also, Why do you assume i read it. I simply watched a YouTube video. Everest Fernandez "all about flushing" he talks about tomatoes and tobacco and flushing. So flushing other plants is a thing, whether it actually works or not.........?

Just wanted to read/watch what you were talking about, i assumed you've read it because most professional controlled experiments aren't made with video's.
Leaching/tapering the feed is a much better practice then pouring 5x the pot volume of water, i like to just call that leaching because noobie growers dont know the difference and constantly fuck themselves.
That's mybad, i was under the impression that they were actually drowning the plants for a smoother smoke, nope.
