Dog Lovers Vs Dog Eaters ..?

This weekend has the infamous dog eating festival in Yulin. China, but as more and more Chinese accept
western ways, there is building hatred toward each other, the dog lovers those who mostly dress their dogs up like panda's, or even wives, and those who would sooner drop the pooch to a pot


Social media ain't helping any and turning this very passionate 'debate' to all out war



Something to be learn't here on both sides, love your dog, but if it shits on the carpet, go Yulin on its ass ..lol

Meat is meat, end of story. Back in the day when castles where surrounded for months on end city dwellers would make sure no living thing would walk around after grain stocks disappeared, cats dogs whatever man. Its all cultural in the end of the day . Why should we feel sadder for certain animal species being killed and consumed over another? No species in this world is less than any other., just because it is a very common pet doesnt mean its life id worth more than a chicken or a cow. Where in some places they can be sacred and never eaten.
Still a bit off putting to say the least! Ive also just had my dog die of cancer :mad:

i agree with klite. as a meat eater, what's the difference between eating a cat or dog and a pig or cow, except that we've domesticated cats and dogs of course, but killing is killing, and meat is meat after all.. it's all just cultural really, imvho..

i completely agree, but i also don't think i'd be able to shoot and kill say an opposum, which has to be about one of the ugliest animals we have around, then gut and prepare the meat...
but hey, i'll go to wendy's and get five double bacon cheese burgers and not think twice about it.. i think there's a serious disconnect anymore between the killing and the eating of animals..

I love my dogs. I have 4 of them, and I would rather starve to death then let something happen to them.

On the other hand, if a stray were running around and there was no food to be found...


Basically what I'm saying as long as I have no emotional attachment to an animal and I'm hungry then I don't see any reason not to fire up the grill.
