I have 3 dogs & 3 cats...They Both r awesome! Staffordshire Pitt, American Pitt (UKC papered) & Boxer. My American (in pix , he has grown alot since ) & one of my cats r buds they sleep together & the cat likes to play & bite him...it's the funniest shit...The pitt is so gentle & doesn't know he could kick his ass. The cat also loves when Ganja is lit up (he's the stoner cat) & his sister thinks she's a dog & hangs with them, the dogs r jealous that they can't climb trees. Funniest shit is watching them all play!

I'm just an animal lover, dogs...cats...meh. They're just different.
I'm a retired professional trainer and let me tell ya, I'd take a nice cat over some of the dogs I've worked with over the years, any day.
My personal favorite dog is a GSD, but my mom lived with hubby and I for years (legally blind and had cancer)...she was phobic of them. I wanted a big dog that she would'nt be so freaked out over, so got a Standard Poodle. Wound up having 3 of them, and they are fantastic dogs.
We are down to only 1 left now. His name is Rio. He's 13 now and he's a big friendly dog, but you wouldn't know that if you came up to my front door, lol. He has one hell of a bark.
I just love seeing soliciters back-up several feet when they come knocking. Most are smart enough to get the hint that I'm not interested and if they aren't...a reminder that I can open the screen door and let the dog further convince you... will surely get the job done.

I love every breed under the dangerous dogs act, because they're all sweet as hell and need their corner fought, ironically.
I'm a little disappointed with the amount of mutations and deformities caused by intensive and inappropriate breeding. I think some breeds are so problematic they should be allowed to be bred out completely if like 1 in 3 dogs can't breathe or ends up with hip dysplasia. It's sad, because the modern german shepherd comes under this category. The original breed standard was made strong and healthy, not like the pussy show dogs today.
I love the Shikoku dog and rottweilers. Oh Lordy, rottweilers are ADORABLE. Fell in love with a guard dog in Trinidad. His name was Monster and I just loved to roll around with him and throw my arms around him. So much muscle. Rawr.
It took my mother 17 years of whining to get a cat into our house, as my dad is uptight like that. I amuse myself by training my cat. His high-five is fucking cute. lLet's see your pug do that, it'd probably fall over! MWAHAHA. </megalomania>

Yeah, I've always favored Czech and East German lines (that's what I've got now although he was born in the U.S. his parents were imports), they really look like the pre-war German dogs. They're also smaller, faster, less prone to hip dysplasia and more intelligent (IMO). There is even a movement to get them designated as a subgroup within the breed (like malinois are a subgroup of Belgian Shepherds). They really ought to be, they're so different people ask what breed my dog is. German Shepherd people know, but he looks so unlike the common American variety you could easily mistake him for something else. If you ever do get the room there's a guy in Kentucky named Gene England who deals in top quality dogs. He's kinda expensive (it's been awhile since I was dog shopping but I seem to remember $1-2000+ for a puppy), but really that's not too bad when I've seen PetLand wanting $1500 for sickly looking mutts.

I'm a cat/dog fan. I don't have a preference. We usually raise our animals together so they tend to interact with other. Usually with hilarious consequences. We made the mistake of raising two Siamese with a German Shepard. They tormented that poor dog.
