Ever hear of shotguns?

Just pissing around your garden keeps carnivores and deer away. If it's your dog and that doesn't work then refer to my first sentence and get a new dog. ;)

Your dog or other people's dogs? If your dog is eating plants it might have worms or its missing something from its diet, get it checked by the vet and ask if they can recommend a quality food. If it's other people's dogs look up leash laws for your state and town, my town requires all dogs to be leashed unless they are fenced in. Definitely don't shoot them, not their fault they have shitty owners.

My dogs have stayed away from my garden plants after popping them with a stick on the butt and telling them no after they went to nosing around my potatoes and radish. Seems to have done the trick as they aren't messing with them now.

Dust them with cayenne. One taste will keep them away.
I can't scientifically prove this works, but I will say I tried it because I had a nice little shady garden full of ornamental plants when I was living in an apartment a few years ago that my slob neighbors would allow their dogs to poop in. I got a big jar of cayenne powder and sprinkled it around the area every time that happened and it seemed to do some good.

Also, I had a policy of shoveling all the poop onto the sidewalk or out into the street. That might have sent a message. Who knows?
