Dolomite Lime Useage

The pH of my soils runoff is 6.0 so I believe I need to add some dolomite lime to my soil to balance the pH. Is this correct? What is the proper way to add it to soil with a plant already in it and how much should I add to a 2 gal. pot?

Here's my mix:

1.5 Cubic Feet FFOF
8 Quarts Perlite
1 Cup Dolomite Lime
I then add General Hydroponics Ancient Forest until the right consistency is achieved. Usually 4-6 cups.

Sprinkle a tablespoon of dolomite lime across the top of the soil, then flush, washing the lime down into the soil. Stop, when the PH comes out at 7.0, if that's what PH you are pouring in.

It's also a good idea to mix the lime into the uppermost layer of soil, before flushing.
