Trump Organization holding discussions to host events for new Saudi golf league: report
The Trump Organization has been in talks with people from the Saudi-funded LIV Golf Investments, which is hosting the Super Golf League. The head of LIV Golf Investments, Greg Norman, has spoken with former President Trump about the matter, one of the people familiar told the newspaper.
The people familiar with the matter told the Post that sites for the new league could include at least two of Trump's courses in Doral, Fla. and Bedminster, N.J.
“It certainly sounds possible given the fact that President Trump owns some of the most beautiful and renowned golf courses in the world — from the cliffs of Rancho Palos Verdes, to the majestic rolling hills of Bedminster and, of course, the iconic Doral property,” Taylor Budowich, a spokesperson for Trump’s Save America PAC, told the newspaper when asked about the discussions.
A spokesperson for LIV Golf Investments declined to comment to the Post about the matter while Eric Trump, a Trump Organization spokesperson and the Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C. did not respond to requests for comment from the paper.
The development comes as Trump continues to pursue different business interests since leaving the White House. Trump has specifically sought to maintain a close relationship with Saudi Arabia, referring to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2019 as “a friend of mine” and making it the first country he visited after entering the White House.
Following the death of Washington Post contributing columnist Jamal Khashoggi, Trump refused to place responsibility for the incident on the Saudi crown prince.
"Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the crown prince had knowledge of this tragic event — maybe he did and maybe he didn’t," the former president said in November 2018.

The former president has been complaining about the negative press surrounding the app's botched rollout, sources told The Daily Beast, demanding to know why more people aren't using it and why it isn't dominating the competition.
An analysis of the app's traffic suggests that Truth Social is doing worse or the same as its MAGA app competitors like Gab and Gettr, The Daily Beast said.
While Truth Social had a sharp spike of around 2 million daily visits to the site when it first came out, the outlet said, citing data from traffic analysis site SimilarWeb, it then dipped to an average of approximately 300,000 visits each day.
It puts the site on par with Gettr but far behind Gab, which averaged around 650,000 daily visits in the same period, the outlet said.
It is despite Gab's mobile apps ban from Apple and Google's app stores.
Truth Social's lack of traffic could be due to the app's long waitlist, which now has more than a million users, The Daily Beast said.
It is also currently only available on the Apple app store, and there is no Android or web version.
The former president is also apparently yet to post Truth Social, instead choosing to make TV and radio appearances to comment on current affairs, Axios noted.

Seriously, I or you could setup a social media app for pretty cheap, hire a nerd(s) and rent some server space, it ain't rocket science FFS. You can setup a forum like this one using free software, on a rented server with control panel software on your PC at home. It costs peanuts to do this shit, all you need is publicity and a hook, the technical costs are minimal.

There better be a good reason for this, it is far too high profile for corruption. Something is going on here and it might involve Russians or Russian money and federal involvement. "I haven't seen anything to say he was legally responsible for it in terms of incitement," Barr told NBC's Lester Holt in an interview that aired Sunday night.
"I do think he was responsible in the broad sense of that word, in that it appears that part of the plan was to send this group up to the Hill. I think the whole idea was to intimidate Congress. And I think that that was wrong," Barr added.
In a three-page response to Barr's remarks, the former president called him a “coward,” “a big disappointment” and “lazy,” NBC reported.
Trump also claimed that before the Jan. 6 rally, he had suggested that troops be stationed in Washington, D.C., and at the Capitol building, but that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) were not interested.
"If they had taken my offer, there would have been no 'January 6' as we know it. We would have had a minimum of 10,000 troops encircling the Capitol, and nobody would have gotten near it, or them," Trump said in his response.
Meanwhile, a court filing from the House panel investigating the insurrection argued that Trump "engaged in criminal conspiracy" in his efforts to prevent the 2020 presidential election results from being certified.
“Had this effort succeeded, the electoral count would have been obstructed, impeded, influenced, and (at the very least) delayed, all without any genuine legal justification and based on the false pretense that the election had been stolen," the Jan. 6 committee wrote in a filing last week seeking to compel documents from lawyer John Eastman.
"There is no genuine question that the President and Plaintiff attempted to accomplish this specific illegal result," it added.
The committee also alleged that it “has a good-faith basis for concluding that the President and members of his Campaign engaged in a criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States,” marking the most serious allegations against Trump to date.

Former President Trump is asking his supporters to help fund his new "Trump Force One" private plane just days after a jet flying him to Mar-a-Lago made an emergency landing when one of its engines failed.
Trump, through his Save America PAC, sent his supporters an email titled "Update Trump Force One" in which he said that "my team is building a BRAND NEW Trump Force One."
He added that the construction of this plane has been under wraps and said "I can't wait to unveil it for everyone to see."
The fundraising email said he had "a very important update on his plane" and asked potential donors if they remember how the former president used to travel across the U.S. in his own "Trump Force One" before he became "the greatest President of all time."
The email included a GIF of a plane taking off with a poll giving donors "yes" or "no" options if they wanted to see his new plane.
The poll links to a donation page that asks supporters to "Contribute ANY AMOUNT IMMEDIATELY to send your response to President Trump!"
The former president was traveling back to his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Fla., from the Four Seasons Hotel in New Orleans in a private jet when the pilot decided to turn around and return to the airport after an engine failed. The news was first reported by Politico and The Washington Post.
The jet, a Dassault Falcon 900, was given to Trump by a donor for the evening to travel back from the Republican National Committee retreat in New Orleans to his home in Florida.
Trump's personal Boeing 757 was a staple during his 2016 presidential campaign.
Last year, it was reported that his Boeing 757 was sitting unused at an Orange County, N.Y., airport unable to be flown.
The full-size passenger airliner, which bears Trump's name across the side in large block letters, has fallen into disrepair. One engine is shrink-wrapped and the other is missing parts, according to CNN.
