Done with RDWC, what next?!?t

So, I am still trying to get through that SIP thread, but I like it because it seems like a hybrid where I can use organic soil, aerate the res, easy water, etc.

There is one video of the guy from Build A Soil where he has a cloned plant that vegged a while, he transplants it into the SIP and then it goes into the flower room. I like this idea because I also have two rooms and was wondering what the best way to accomplish a move to flowering. Right now I have clones vegging under T5s in their net pots. Once ready, I simply pick them up and put them into the RDWC.

If I did it that way, I could have plants always in veg and when they get big enough just transplant to the SIP, that is already in the flowering room. This would be using something like that EarthPot...
several of my grows are in the big SIP thread, along with both of my SIPS , let me know if you need help finding them

How many gallons is the grow box? @Tim Fox
My earth boxes are 15gallons,would you recommend 1 or 2 plants in there? I realize size of plants is a factor.

Sorry to step on your thread T

Yea, looks nice. But what about the “Nutrient Patch Cover”? I don’t know if I want stock nutes from a patch. Do you have to buy a new one after each harvest?
no dont use that patch cover thing,, toss it,,
cover the sip with plastic, like even a trash bag, use your own organic dry nutes of your choice, better suited for growing Cannabis

i was always able to get a full size bag of soil loaded into either the grow box or the earth box, for instance an entire bag of Fox Farms Ocean forrest, 1.5 cubic feet , mound it up over the top and make like a dome shape, you wont be watering from teh top so its ok to do,, then cover it with plastic, and just cut thru with a razor blade wehre you drop your plants in, ,
would you recommend 1 or 2 plants in there?
2 plants worked just great, , I have also grown 2 tomato plants in one outside during the summer and they always grow taller than me and i am 6.4 tall

Ah, ok. I didn’t think so. So you like the Growbox better than Earthbox? And Foxfarm soil and dry nutes?
Yes for indoor growing the growbox is the winner becauseof the larger reservoir and the water fill/sight hole,
The earthbox has a water overflow hole that is hidden upside down and when you fill the reservoir you won't know if it's full until it overflows and makes a mess

Withthe 4 gallon res I could go away for a long weekend and the plants were just fine , it's auto pilot at it's finest

I am done with RDWC as of the end of this harvest. I’ve run this system for years and produced a shit ton of nice buds. Poundage... yea it works.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I don’t need so much “fast” as I do quality at this point. Long story short, my mag pump died, another came today. I drained and cleaned everything, and when it arrived I hooked it up and it leaked. I bought new fittings, used tape, etc. still leaked. I ended up breaking it trying to tighten the joint. I’m gonna try to send it back to Amazon, we shall see.

So... I think I need to simplify. I’ve done a ton of soil grows early on so I know how to do it and all, but I’ve been in hydro mode for 2 decades (ebb/flow, DWC, RDWC, etc.). What I’m looking for is a nice, easy way to grow 12 plants under cobs and boards. Not hydro. Would it be coco, or some soilless mix? What fert should I use? Pot sizes? Etc, etc.

I know there are a million ways to do this and a million opinions as well. But please chime in and tell me what works for you. Thank you, peace.
Check out Kindsoil! run 12-3 gallon's

And we're off! I haven't been this excited since I built the RDWC. Going simple and easy. It's going to give me way more control- my mixed grows were out of control at times, with several strains at different stages of flowering. Now it's going to be two at a time, rotating every two weeks for a nice perpetual situation.

I added some perlite and vermiculite to the mix. Along with some Roots Organics root growth enhancer.

Awesome. Looking forward to watching this. Gonna try outdoor this year with a sip. Still scratching my head though. Lots to learn.

Today I was able to move all the remaining hydro veg plants into the flowering room. It's a mess in there.

But my new veg area is perfect.

I added some reflection, a new fan, and an LED shoplight.
