no gas on may 15th
Body: In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, every one should not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

The average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up now its taking 40 to 50 to fill up

if 73,000,000+ did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil company's pockets for just one day. let me know if anyone is going to do this there is lot of people on myspace that are backing it. gas will be 4.00 soon we have to do something now

if 72,999,999 more people do this they will make triple the following day when they make it 5.00 gallon just to get even

not to mention that the oil companies don't run gallons sold analysis on a daily basis. People would have to go a month without oil purchases to see something happen. I'm not willing to pedal a bike 25 miles to work for a month.

look heres no hope in that. first you need a heavy build in crude stock We have that then you need max refining compacity we are only @ 87% so even if we all skipped a day the us gasoline reserves are so low you would have to wait 2-3 days just to see a build.

and the oil companys are producing oil at such a premium and importing gas and oil so fast it would send a wave. then the surge in supply would be quickly absorbed in the next 2 days and could certainally lead to shortages in certain markets causeing another spike in price.

in a year i bet youll think 2.50 a gallon was cheap

gas stations dont make hardly any money off gas. And everyone will still be driving on gas they previously bought so whats the point?

How about we start building nuclear plants to produce power to run the generators that produce our electricity. Then we start using the natural gas that's now powering the generators making electricity to power our cars instead. At that point, we can give up our addiction to foreign oil.

Naw, Green Peace, the Sierra Club, the Audubon Society, the Green Party and all the other freakin' tree huggers would never go for that. Nuclear is evil, doncha know?
