Don’t ever buy a 36” tall tent

Trying to make a stealth in a fireplace. I have an older massive 8 inch duct fan and carbon can that wont fit my new area. Down sizing from what I did successfully years ago. Can't use a tent as landlord sometimes needs access to apartment but the fire place cover works perfect and gives enough room.
How is smell venting up a three story chimney with no carbon filter. Does it linger outside around the house or does it dissipate pretty well after exiting the top of the chimney?
If carbon filter is not needed I'm thinking of sealing a peace of plywood in the flu with A PC fan or two just to assist with slight negative pressure so smell doesn't leak into the room.
A few days ago my sig other smelled the exhaust from my outside vents, with good carbon filters on, at max smell in flower, from about 8 feet away. That's with a filter. Without one it would kill the neighborhood.

I love this plan but would assume you do need the carbon filter. Wind blows in any direction it will be obv to a non partier although where its coming from will def be a mystery. On slow it smells more and on high it's too much airflow for a fireplace grow. Carbon for peace of mind I love the plan!

I run a perpetual grow from a D90 clone tent, I can raise 10 plants ready to flower, you can't blame the tent for you not using it right lol
I've got a bathroom fan in my clone tent running through a temp controller and connected to my flower tent via ducting its awesome but a tad cool ;-)

@ComfortCreator you answered my question perfectly ill def need a proper filter. Now to find a decent sized quiet duct fan and carbon filter to fit my new smaller spot. I used an ipower 8 inch 750 cfm fan and carbon can years ago venting into an attic and there was 0 smell anywhere. Just want something smaller now.

I think the 36" tall tents are meant for root and tuber crops. 36" tall tents would be great for radishes, beets or potatoes, peanuts....

Check out @zypheruk thread were he grows short, squat plants in a 4ft 8" tent split in two with a shelf.
His plants are fantastic looking. He knows his onions! Lol
