Sorry to thread jack but need to share my research and experience. Shop lights are great for really lighting up dark places but crap for growing. That looks like either the 200 or 400 which is a lot of energy and really hot. Cfl's are way better for supplemental lighting and keeping plants in veg. A little 100 or 125 will run cool and only use 25 watts. Use the "daylight" cfl. I can light up a whole car port with just 6 cfl's.

I got sme the other day man jj kinda inspired me ha,
There cool as hell,and have little personality it's funny I woulda never thought chickens would be fun haha.
 
But def true about predators I thought my pits were cool and I left them running around and came home to one dead had to scold them for a while hopefully that don't happen again but I don't leave them alone anymore chickens go to the coops when I'm gone

My inlaws liked to tell the story about Ernie Ford visiting the ranch on Ryer Island where they lived. Ford had come to hunt pheasants. He apparently had a great time, and stayed to talk and tell stories late into the evening.
