Dr grin spoon strian

Never tried it, but I've heard the quality is excellent.

The problem with this one is that it takes forever and a day to finish (eg 16 weeks) stretches like crazy and is low yielding.

This one is for more experienced growers only, I think.

The Grinspoon is not about comparison in those terms ^^, it is what it is. An heirloom strain that has it's own characteristics that are a part of an exclusive experience.

That pales in comparison to the pure sativas mentioned. Which have additional qualities grinspoon doesn't.

Yea, I personally wouldnt go near that strain, in term of growing anyways. A connoisseur strain if i ever saw one. Tiny yields and long flowering. Happy to smoke it if it was there, but Im not prepared to spend valiable time and space on it. Just not worth it.

Shit buds out huge, get it dude. Nah, I've only seen that same stock photo they use for it in every ad they've got. Heard old school guys get wet when they were talking about it though. The high is very unique. One of those fart in a glass things, i.e. South Park.

I personally wouldn't touch that strain w/ a 10 foot pole.
For real I'd never grow it but when I finally go to Amsterdam I'm smoking that shit. Indoors your much better with like nevilles haze or something that grinspoon just don't yield for shit now if I was down Florida or so I'd bang her out outdoors takes all season anyway who cares if harvest aint till December as long as you have quicker shit of course but even then I'd go with the Nevilles Haze takes about the same time. neither are good cash cropping indoor strains outdoors NH would be great for it other then that its more connoisseur smoke.

It's a pretty nutty one for sure....
Yes longer flowerer, but the yields will surprise you.....and it's the easiest trimmer out there!!!
Those clusters don't shrink at all, and they are pretty powerful! Kinda thai flavor with a little hashy wacky background. Seems like there is much thai in it, and possibly some hawaiian....or a thai strain that was acclimated to Hawai'i??
Only problem is, it's only offered feminized! Barney and Greenhouse are monsanto like a-holes, that wont allow people regular versions, so they can't breed their own!!!!!
These originally were offered as regs....wish i had gotten them then.....cause it's impossible to match up a strain to keep the strain pure to it's essence.
Grow it if you can.....but if your inside....flower immediately....cause it doesn't stop growing till about two weeks before it's done!
But you can't harvest early....so if you make the choice....you gotta go the distance....but u will be stoked...and so will the ladies!!!

Green Santa has been screwing around with Grinspoon genetics. He's grown some out and he's been coming up with crosses like this Space Bomb x Grinspoon. You should check out his thread OP.

I can definitely see why not.

Figure the plant will take 3-4 weeks before it will start flowering from ceed, 12-16 more before its finished, and then another 3-4 weeks before its dried and cured. So between germing the ceed and trying the bud is going to take at least four months, and perhaps as long as six months. During that time, you could literally have run three different crops of a fast maturing hybrid from clone.

Meanwhile, these types of sativas basically never stop growing, even during flowering, so you're going to end up with something probably not less than five feet high/long. In general, strains like this are the hardest ones to grow indoors, typically requiring extensive training. Something like this may simply be prohibitive for small indoor gardens.

Outdoors is also problematic, since unless you're really far South or are growing in a greenhouse the strain probably won't finish before winter frosts come and kill the plant.

My take is that if you're after a high quality sativa, there are probably other hazes that are a little easier to grow and will give you as good or better results. Something like this is really for an experienced grower with a lot of time and space on their hands, who is looking for a challenge.

Hey Jo.....i see what your saying, any why most won't attempt this strain.
A few points though.....the yield is pretty good....i had about a 6 footer outside, next to a similar size haze!thai strain that had pretty dense buds for sativa. The Grinspoon only yielded about an ounce less.
U must realize there is barely any leaf to trim....suoer thin stems....and giant pod clusters that don't shrink. This means your trim, dry n cure time are minimal, not months, but weeks.
Also you would only dedicate a small area to this one, while doing two runs of other clones at the same time so your not waiting n wasting space.
The picture u usually see of Grinspoon is the indoor one, which i guarentee yeilded pounds...and it commands top dollar!!!
Anyone that has smoke it that i know loves it...especially the older heads, they freak out for this one.
Sure it takes time n patience....but u will not expeirence this kinda strain in today's genetics, cause it doesn't have the big tight buds, so breeders steer clear.
This is why today's weed n strains are weak, and a point i've been trying to make for a long time!!!! All the breeders n growers want everything to look good visually....it's not about quality n potency! Sure they try to get these varieties as potent as they can, but they still have to look a certain way.....so they will never be that potent.......PERIOD!!!! It is those kind of genetics that have the most potency.....all the THc, and other coumpounds, are focused on these huge pods.....energy and potency aren't wasted on all that plant matter!

I mean no disrespect but your obviously stating your opinion which cannot be compared in the way your saying. That being said, I'm glad that you did and even go on to mention some you like better.
cheers!

u will be disappointed on yield with this strain.. had a strain similar and a 8 foot plant yielded 4 ozs.. of usable buds.. very fuckin stemy .. I had to use fingers to pull the calyxs off the stems instead of smoking tons of stem.. sucked.. very trippy uppidity high.. but not worth the trouble.
