Regarding the good Doctor: people ridicule him because they cannot debate that which they cannot understand. The result is the over-the-top-of-my-head problem. Which is why, many historians have said Adele Stevenson was the "best" candidate, but was never elected to high office.

Most of these candidates are only worthy of cabinet appointments, because they are not proven leaders. Only Huckabee and Romney have been governors or CEOs. But, these guys get the press coverage, because they give the applause lines. And the press is always willing to pander to the uninformed.

It is hard for the Doc, a heavy thinker, to explain monetary policy to people whose total mind set is groceries and gasoline. Frankly, I'm not sure if good press coverage would help him very much. It is sad to say, but stupid votes. We get the government we deserve.
