Drip system with hydroton WATER SCHEDULE

Hi all, I've set up a DIY drip system as you can see. It is currently running on a 24/7.
Each pot/plant has 2 drip emmiters 1 at each end to encourage root growth (So I think?) , running at around 2L/H.
I currently have AB GROW, TAKE ROOT, MULTI TOTAL and CALMAG nutes in my rez which brings my ppm to 225, I know this seems high for seedlings but there's 4 different nutes in my rez which are all at 1/4 manufacturers dose I may add.
I'm going to buy another timer, so I can set my water schedule properly.
I was thinking perhaps 30 mins on 30 mins off, I thought it would give the hydroton time to dry on a regular basis encouraging root growth without underwatering?
My drainage is excellent also, I see no signs of water logging anywhere in the hydroton it just looks damp with some dry patches in the corners?
I took the best photos I could so if you could have a look and give me some opinions?

I'm using an airated 40L recirculating reservoir.
Nutrients:
DUTCH PRO - TAKE ROOT, GROW AB, MULTI TOTAL.
VITALINK - BLOOM AB, BUDDY, PK, CALMAG

Humidity: 55 - 65%. Temp: 25°c - 20°c
Ph: 5.5 - 6 PPM: 200
Light: Viparspectra Xs2000 225w (Dimmable)

This is my second try, the fist time I used an ebb and flow system and it bad drainage and ended up with root rot and light insufficiencies. It was a first attempt and I mangaed to get a harvest but it wasn't done right!

So I upgraded my light and built a new top fed drip system from scratch and hope to have a better result this time. If you don't do something right the first time keep trying persistence and patience will always pay off in the end.
I appreciate any and all help as always and will be glad to pass on my own knowledge to others when I have it!

Thankyou for taking the time to read this.

Firstly
If that root plug in the middle dries out your seedlings will die.

you should have allowed adequate roots from the plugs before entering into your system.

I like rookwool for this as you can use the starter cubes and then the 3x3’s and then into your system once the roots have been established by hand watering

Secondly.
How are this drips going to get to the roots currently? This is where you may need to hand water somewhat until the roots are big enough to use your drip system.

Usually with this kind of system you would do 15mins on 4x a day but if the nutrients aren’t reaching the roots they will die.

Thirdly
I’m not sure that 225w LED is going to be enough to flower 5 plants in this system as they will grow big quickly once established.

Hi thanks for responding! For starters the plugs are staying moist even with the drippers are that range.
I've been keeping a close eye on them and been watering with a syringe until the roots really start going.
I'm not planning on flowering all those plants under that one light, I have a tent and a marshydro ts600 I'm going to put up to flower 2 of them in so they have enough space.
Think I will try the 15 mins on every hour schedule and see how I get on, as I said before it's on 24 7 until I get another timer in a couple of days, but all seems well so far, thanks for the advice tho fella

Also the light it's actual 225w output but its supposed to replace a 2000w hps which is never gonna happen lol :finger:

I’m using a 300w @MarsHydrofactory FCE3000 to replace my 400w HPS its coverage is 4x4 veg 3x3 flower.

my scrog is 1m x 0.8m.

Nice light! I'm a little jealous lol:weed:! My area isn't as big as yours my scrog under this lights is only 60x60cm but the space itself is around 80x60 cm, my mars hydro tent is 60 x 60 x 160cm. Gonna use that to flower 2 in what would you think?
I had light penetraition issues last run, so I'm gonna try give them as much space as I can this time....
do you have any issues like that with yours with that light?
I can see it's well packed in there....

Not well packed at all.

only running the single plant.

I haven’t filled the screen this time.

penetration hasn’t been an issue and for most of the grow so far I’ve had the light in 50-75%.

Thankyou for that, I tried flowering 3 white widows last run under a ts 600 like a twat newbie errors ay...
My cousin told me it's the same a 600w hps and we all know thats a load of bollix don't we  and my buds didn't end up too good due to the lack of light ( and maybe a little root rot from pooling in my project 0 ebb and flow , awful drainage man surprised they made it).

You can see that I actually had to start chopping one of them early, had brown pistols from flower week 2 so I'm determined to get it proper this time.

Hope I get the same results as you nice job dude!
