Yup they both suck, suck so bad that its all crap and making my place all stinky and stuff ); Can I be like you widow and learn how to make it smell like unicorn gum drops with a sprinkle of extra special premium cob dust lol:lol: Sorry I dont want to hurt your guys’s business but I use these forums to learn. Some day when I go and need to match the right mw driver to a qb I will look up some good info but at the end of the day this thread was about cheap driverless cobs am I right? And instead of hearing all this negative mumbo jumbo, I am someone who experimented and found a way for them to perform well for what they are. Again I would love some qbs and when I can afford them I will snatch them up, but in the mean time im just trying to help someone get an idea, and my honest opinion on these things.
- limit them to be half the rated wattage
- buy larger wattage so less soldering
- its cheap so cheap out, ebay triac and a small sheet of diamond plate aluminum.
- I attached a gfci to it to try and make it safer lol
- use ideal in sure push connectors makes it a fast build
- have fun and enjoy watching your babies no matter how ugly people say they are haha
Let me tell you, out of everyone else I know their bud was sub par. My inzane came out the cleanest smoke, best high, and yield is going to only get better once dialed. They were dying by week 4 because of my dumbass yet still never popped one nanner and not one mold spore and my humidity was crazy going from 20-80!!! I hate these damn tents I switched to a room, but before these inzanes I ran tested clones and they all threw nanners and were larfy in just the humidity alone. This time they were drowning on top of that, I give them a five star rating for that cut it took a beating and still delivered. Talk all the bs you want its right there im not going to bad mouth a company who did me right. Im not repping just them greenpoint is good, crockett, alien, exotic, solfire (waiting to pop seeds of compassion ecto cooler:hump:)Ive ran all and they all did their job.
Of course you say greenpoint good. I expect nothing less. If you think ethos is good, GPS is good too you too. Ethos is good bc his plants come with extra seeds. I imagine that's your next statement. Gtfoh. Not only are you making yourself sound even more ignorant. Your basic math skills show youre dumb too. So you just keep on keepn on. #midsgang

Just stop. They are not performing well. They are not efficient cobs. Ethos is garbage. He is a total fucking dickhead. With I'd guess a severe drug problem by looking at his constant mood swings. And wanting to fight anything and everyone. You are like 1 millionth person to come to this forum. With the same bullshit. People want to step over a dime to pick up a penny. It's very simple. Same goes with car motors. Their is no replacement for displacement. Unless forced induction. Same goes with leds. Cheap is not good. And just one more analogy incase you dont understand. Cheap tattoos are not good, and good tattoos are not cheap.

There are plenty of valid cheap LEDs all over ebay and grocery stores. Saying cheap is not good is a weird blanket statement that really doesn't apply to everyone, perhaps to your situation but someone else cheap may be exactly what is needed.

Good tattoos are free if you are banging the artist.

You can't measure lumens with a single point sensor. You need an integrating sphere to do it. This is because lumen is a unit of total output. Changing your lamp height doesn't cause there to be more or less light, it just distributes it differently.
Thats what I just said it distributes it differently at certain heights. The further away the less light there is going that specific direction. And the spheres are measuring total output including everything reflected. I can measure every 6 inches of the area and my lumens at 8 inches high were always between 10,000 and 25,000 in thet general location. I dont mean to hurt your guys feeling but sometimes you just need to drop all your beliefs and open your mind. I also build people offroad leds and flashlights and a damn 120w light bar will light up a whole damn mountain side from a quarter mile away, and if it shines in the sky while im on a cliff, people probably would mistake it for the damn moon I know I have. The light leds put out is crazy how much more do you think you really need? And yes I was going to do the math dumb fuck but I like to use minimums it is giving my whole canopy atleast the same lumens as a 1k if I just lower it. And its a simple theory to understand, why can you stare at my same light bar from a few football fields away, but if your say a few yards away if you stare at it you can possibly blind yourself? The closer you are the less more rays get to scatter so you are getting a more concentrated amount. And im not trying to be a dick I use riu to learn a lot I’ve never really had to post anything because I was learning a new tool, but in this thread I actually can speak for the guy experimenting and I told any guy who might come on here to learn like I do that the only flaws to these are that they are way over driven so give it no more than half power. And that what I tested was they dont meet my satisfaction until I drop them 8 inches which doubles the intesity from a mere 7k lmn to a very reasonable 15k average in every inch of the tent I measure. I didnt just measure one spot and as for genetics Ive got many other cuts that are “rare” so to speak and I havent ran them yet but the tester smoke I had compared to what these produced after dog shit conditions, everyone still preferred mine. So we’ll see what magic I can do with these beautiful clones but as for you haters I prefer a og skunky terp and the inzane was awesome because it smelt up close like a citrus forest, but a few feet away just smelt like you milked a skunks glands. Gassy as hell and not one nanner like previous tested clones in that same set up. Grow what you want to grow guys I seen everyone try to hop on the mac 1 train and it always looked like shit to me shit yields. I am always looking at new strains id love to pop and I seen an old grow of exotics donkey butter and to me looks like my kind of girl but alas they dont breed her anymore. My next re up will probably be with elev8 seeds they look like sone tasty treats. Ive even thought about growing some ducks foot just because i’d love to see it with my own eyes. This is my hobby I love doing it, I spent very little money and my hobby is producing better than vets I know that do it for a living. Keep on hating its funny

Comparing fucking apples to oranges lol. I build cars I have a 600hp 4cyl and forced induction is a variable just like light height, more airflow= more power, less height= more intensity and if youve ever seen commercial grow ops the lights are mounted 6+ feet above the canopy. Dont be fooled just give your plants a good amount of light, if its bright in there your good. I have a buddy who does a 8 t5 grow and it does okay but with t5s it never gets bright it always feels hazy. These cobs get bright, bright enough to distort my camera and ive never had a t5 or hps do that.

There are far better driver on board units ....Yuhinou seller on aliexpress has the best ones. But you still need the third ground wiring just to make sure you dont kill yourself. I put 9 of 20w 3500k cobs in 2.6 sq. ft. for now but i can add whatever i WANT. Any kelvin... red blue... Wattage.... Dont worry about efficacy too much just use the space wisely with good spread and good reflection foil like diamond...You better learn about growing than mind these "smart" comments. I added two inline 25w fans pushing the air up and making the heatsink ice cold and i got excellent air flow around plants and even in my room lol. Here is an example. I am a universal grower therefore i grow all kinds of plants and im not limited to buds and talking people out of something all the time like some here... Guy i know is pushing giant colas in 5x5 and its overcrowded ! He is using 1000w of those leds. Still better than hids. They are doing the job well. Some people just dont know about joy of gardening :/IMG_20190227_124734.jpg IMG_20190227_124739.jpg IMG_20190227_124750.jpg

looking good brotha! Those look like the chips with push pin connectors. I wish mine came with those but I bought a $10 soldering gun off of ebay and shortened my install time by 1/4. Good to know you grounded it, also if you want you can get a triac dimmer off ebay for $2 so when your vegging you can run less power. I’d suggest the 2000w version for anything 400w below and the larger 4k for 1000w below.

Thank you ... Im around 250-300 ppfd now and half the way down i measure good 500-600 ppfd so i will not use a dimmer but just lower it. I love diy diy lights. If you have time and tools there is nothing better

Todays pic. I have Mg lockout on weed because of biogrowIMG_20190304_132848.jpg and i see lower leaves look different kinda dry a bit pale. Gotta get epsom salts.

Damn came in here to learn but all I've read is a bunch of dickhead remarks about spending more money vs spending less. I wonder, through y'all's comments, how many people have y'all convinced not to even try? You've convinced me. I'm just gonna stick with my sponsors.
