droopfest

Ok so my plants are going through this weird up and down cycle with drooping. after their 12 hours of darkness i turn the lights on and theyre usually all perky, the leaves reaching up for light. but after the lights are on for a good while the leaves start to droop a bit and after a while when the lights are about to go back off a couple of the plants' leaves just do not look healthy at all..like they have no water in them or something they just hang down.

i shine light from the sides as well as from above though. could this just be the leaves hanging down more to effectively act as solar panels for the light coming from the sides? i know leaves twist and turn to adjust to the direction of light so this might be a factor..

ill take pics as soon as i can next time..and post them vs when its not happening.

like, i think theyre healthy but its just freaking me out. anyone think they know what could be going on or have had similar problems?

peace:peace:

Mine do the same thing.

I've attributed it to them getting ready for bed, then getting ready in the morning.

hmm ok because mine are being pretty dramatic about it. im pretty convinced now tho that its just the combination of a natural droop cycle along with me shining alot of light from the sides

it sounds like your plants are getting too hot during their day cycle, what is the temp mid-light cycle? also what kind and what wattage lights are you using?

Something has to be going on whether its temps or over/under watering.
wow boneman you are freaking everywhere.... but i definetly agree with you, plants dont droop that dramatically because of the light cycle, other factors must be at play. does the plant look healthy?

yeah its too much to be explained by the light cycle. i might be underwatering a bit since they suck it up so fast now that theyre this big. the temp gets up to like 32 degrees celsius at hottest..i wouldnt have thought itd be too hot

so the plants arent drooping nearly as much anymore..i think it might have been a mix of temps that were too high, not enough water, and just the fact that i shine alot of light from the side and the leaves were adjusting to the direction of light. anyways theyre totally healthy so no worries @ this point. thx 4 the help
