If you use distilled water you will reverse the whole process the plant does in up taking food, instead the distilled water will suck out the minerals that the plant has and then you will start to see some real problems.Your humidity is to low for veg, should be at least at 50-60%. From they're appearance it's a watering issue. From what you've told us it's underwatered, probably due to low humidity and just a lack of watering. Distilled or purified water would both be better than tap. Try watering more consistantly while still letting your soil dry out still between waterings, should raise your humidity too.
Purified water does not make it better than tap water, have you ever tested purified water? PH 8 to 9 and PPM 300 to 500 and some still have chlorine in them.
To remove chlorine let your water set out over night, and if you have hard water use 1/8 tsp Epsom salt per gallon water will fix this in most cases.
Humidity: as long as it stays between
28 to 45 it should be good, remember the more your plant stinks the happier it is.
I would say his plant is drowning from the looks of the pics.Right now I have 3 plants in 5 gal buckets and I give them a 1/2 gal of water in the morning and the second 1/2 gal a few hours later. Also 1/2 tsp ferts per gallon 18-30-16 from start to finish when in dirt.
My avatar pic speaks for it self. Yes it is my last big grow before I moved to the rocky's.
