Hey,

I have a problem, i watered two days ago with 1/2 strength nutes and yesterday my plants looked a little droopy so i thought "OK? have i overwatered"? but today there is a definite whiteish powder on the edge of some of the leaves and spotting on the one plant.

My PH is fine, grow room is a constant 25C but humidity is a little low today because its been so hot here (27)

Any suggestions on what action to take are welcome

Thanks

pics without the LED on would be better but usually when someone says the plants have spots and use LED it is a calcium deficiency, do you feed calmag?

A buddy of mine at the local hydro store says i got nute lock due to overwatering and overpowering nutes. said my plants are too small for the dosage im giving. im gonna flush em out and see how they go for 48 hours. if no improvement ill get the calmag in thanks fpor the info budman111

No, they're just dark spots and ive never grown anything before so i have zero Knowledge
If you live in a softwater area you will need calmag growing with LED and I can 100% guarantee you that so I would get some soon, real cheap on ebay or your local store.

That's not a CalMag deficiency. Not even close. And the fact that your growing with an LED will not change the amount of calcium a plant needs. What you have is an overwatering issue, plain and simple. What soil are you currently using?? White powder on the edges of leaves could be a sign of the beginnings of a powdery mildew problem.

Im growing in COCO i had a white powdery mildew thing going on a couple a weeks ago so im sure that's the last bit to clear up. I felt id overwatered and also put the nute up to full strength a bit quick. I have never grown anything so im consumed with plant anxiety permanently ha ha My Clones had a tough start in life, my grow room wasnt ready so they sat on a window ledge then i transplanted from one gorw medium to another type (soil to COCO) so the fact they are still alive is amazing !! i have some seedlings on the verge of sprouting their first proper leaves so im hoping to look after them a bit better

the store owner said to flush them and give them 48 hours to see how they react then go back if i need some calmag. its hard water in my neighborhood so i'll get the calmag tomorrow just incase.

Thanks for your help, its gratefully received

How many LED grows have you done kagecog? I dont last 7 days in flowering without calcium.
That obviously has more to do with your soil medium than your lighting situation. Please explain to me how exactly LED lights cause a plant to somehow require more calcium?

Yep that's what I figured, coco coir retains far more water than regular potting soil so you don't need to water quite as often. Although you don't have any calcium deficiency currently, I'd recommend adding some to offset the extra amount of potassium that coco contains. You may need a bit more nitrogen as well.

It is caused by a certain Nanometer light spectrum only in flowering, cant remember the wavelength, google it if you want further info, it is common knowledge in the LED section here.

I have never seen anything about it in the RIU LED section, and I was unable to come across anything on google. Unless your pulling shit out your ass, please provide me with a link to some information on this?

I've emailed the maker of my light and asked that question. They said they were unaware that could be a problem and have promised to investigate. However I have Googled the shit out of this subject now and the best suggestion is that there is a calcium block caused by too much N in my watering regime. Seems I've just made a newbie error. Luckily I have some seedlings breaking ground as of right now so hopefully I'll do better with these little ladies

Ok day three and those spotty leaves are now clawing and yellowing and withering. I've definitely overwatering these ladies. Nothing I can do at this point other than watch 4 weeks of love and care capitulate into dead plants. Luckily I've got 8 seedlings to kill next. Just Germed another 13 in case I kill my seedlings too. I've read every book I can download and nothing prepares you.

Its true that coco has great drainage, but it still retains more water than peat based mediums so you don't have to water quite as often. As a beginner, I suggest going with a high quality potting soil mix instead of coco, it's more forgiving. Remember the KISS rule of growing, Keep It Simple, Stupid.
