FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) – A jury has has found former police office David Bisar guilty on multiple charges relating for the death of one man and injuring of two others. On August 2010, David Basir crashed his police cruiser into a group of motorcyclist. while under the influence of alcohol . The jury consisting of seven women and five men reached there decision in one of the longest running legal dramas in recent memory.


Officer David Bisar was found guilty of the following charges:


Operating with BAC higher than .15 — Class B felony.
OWI causing death — Class C felony.
Reckless homicide — Class C felony.
OWI causing serious injury — Class D felony.
Operating with BAC .08 causing injury — Class D felony.

This is a rare occasion that a police officer gets convicted of anything, there is an idea in our society that officers can do no wrong, probably instilled at early age in schools when officers would show up and were worshiped as ultimate authority.
