dry backs at the end of flower

Anyone have experience is drying back their medium at the end of flower? I've been following a guy who does a lot of this during a plant's life cycle. He does it pretty hard at the swell to finish stage in flower. He said he keeps an eye for ec spikes but noticed an improvement in quality, especially in terp and resin production. I grow in larger pots so I am curious on how I could experiment with this. I water every day to run off. Could I water every other day until I chop? Any insight is greatly appreciated

Plant will get louder while growing under drought. How does that correlate to the end product? By using up all the terps before harvest? So we have to refrigerate our buds?

Someone should breed a strain of Cannabis who's flavor and effect peak months after harvest instead of before harvest.

You could measure how much water you need to get the initial run off, break that up into more waterings per day, feel the weight of the plant to get a feel for when it’s pretty light and keep it in a drought and just back off on the ec. Plants don’t want much ec at the end anyways..

Crop steering doesn't have to be complicated. You just need smaller pots. You don't even have to change the watering cycle once you have a base time when starting flower. As the plant gets bigger and fills out with roots, it will start consuming more water. I don't use moisture meter, I guesstimate by lifting the pot before the next watering. I'd say I start with about 40% - 50% dry back and by the end of flower it's close to 60% -70%. I use 6" pots with 1/4" rockwool cubes on a drip. I start my cycle an hour after lights on and stop 2 hours before lights off. My plants finish anywhere from 2.5 to 3 feet. I would like to use 4" pots. I have netting holding them up, otherwise the would fall over from all those fat nugs. I have noticed a huge difference in bud density and potency, since I started crop steering. I can't give you any other knowledge , because I don't know what method of growing you're using. Besides manipulating air/water temps, Humidity, and CO2, this subject can get more in depth and precise, but for your average home grower the expense of a moisture meter for rockwool and other things is generally not worth the time, headache, or cost

How do you propose one would go about creating a plant that produces its most terps MONTHS after it's been killed? Do tell.

Not saying it wouldn't be nice, lol. But quite impossible.
