You probally have not messed up. Just burp your jars once or twice a day and occassionally remove and rearrange them in the jars. What you are smelling is your plants curing. Give them 2 or 3 weeks and I bet you will be surprised at how they smell when you roll a doobie........
Growing is the easy part. Learning to properly dry and cure your bud is an art. Each grow you will get better at it.......:weed: Its actually better to err on the side of caution and get them a bit too dry. You can always toss a fan leaf in the jar later to add a bit of moisture.......

Thats the part you will need to work out for yourself. Depends on alot of things. But twice a day for a week or so at 5-10mins is a good place to start. If you have more than one jar you could vary things a bit. Like I said when it comes to curing you need to find your own groove.

I leave my buds in the jar and leave the lid off for an hour every 12 hours. this is my first curing attempt and so far they smell great. they lost that hay/grass smell in less than a week.

looks good. I would trim up any of that excess stem on the nugs. it's just going to add moisture to the jar and make the process take longer.

is that a seed I see in the 3rd picture?

just squeeze your buds every now and then to see how moist they still are. if they are still smelling like hay and not as moist on the outside then keep the lid on more often to help draw some of that moisture out of the middle and rehydrate the outside of the nug.

judging by what I just smoked that's been curing for about a week now, an hour once every 12 hours should be good lol. these were smaller buds off a 6 week flowering plant, so they dried faster. but damn are they potent. I smoked a tiny bit right after it cured and the taste wasn't great. now it tastes more like a smooth purply taste lol.

ive noticed the buds got a lil more dense (dried) but they still have the grass smell to them, hopefully within time the grass smell will go away! but if not is there anything that i can use to delete the smell

go buy a hygrometer from a pet store. Throw it in your jar. it will tell you the relative humidity in the jar. If its over 60% Burp for about 15 minutes a day, until it gets down to about 55% then just seal your jar for long term storage. If the RH is over 70% let the buds sit out over night then seal em back up again. Do this till you get down to 60% then do as previously stated. Just takes the guess work out of it. You'll know when they're done for sure.

^^^^amen.
this is how its done, you cant go off a set time schedule, as this site has people from around THE WORLD in dif climates and altitudes (which play a huge role in the dry/cure)...
