Hi everyone.

When wicking in a container or raised garden bed one must flush every once in a while to prevent salt build up.

How is it that when dry farming one is not required to top water or flush.

Where do the salts go?

Either flushed down or left as a precipitate on the surface. By the way tell us which crops or methods of farming utilize flushing at harvest.

What's dry farming? I'm confused.
Feed at a lower ppm to prevent build up?
Beans in southwestern Colorado are an example. Same with cotton on the Southern Plains. If it rains you get beans or cotton. If it doesn’t you’re shit out of luck.

I think I'm just going to exit this lol. If I dont water a crop, it will die and the dirt will just become clay. If roots are present in a dry ground, they won't feed on the salts because there's no water to uptake anything at all, no? If when it rains, the plants have the right balance of nutrients to thrive. Meaning, the plants become somewhat dormant to stay alive. I'm just confused and taking a shot in the dark here to make sense.

No food in water very little.

No irrigation
No foliar feed
No top water

Dry Farming
Plant a well astablished seedling deep into soil outside thats been amended with compost.

Water it deeply once at transplant and leave it alone.

Good luck with that. Grew guerilla. I see disappointment in your future. But I could be wrong.
