Dry room optimal condition's

Hey what's up. So I'm a first time grower. I'm at week 6 and I'm getting ready to get my dry room/location set up. So the issue is my grow is in my basement and there is a light leak when it rains. Everything is controlled with ac/ dehumidifier inside my grow tent. So I'm going to dry upstairs. The tem is 73degrees and 40% humidity. The room is a spare need room so it's empty. But I'm worried bc everything I've read says I need more humidity. What should I do? Just keep it that was and not stress. Add humidifier? Anyone with feed back is much appreciated. Thanks

it will probably be fine. Maybe throw in a wet rag in there for the first days and cut larger branches. Leaving fan leaves on them will also help

yeah I'd definitely increase that humidity. My last batch dried too fast cause it was too dry in my house and it's a huge bummer. if you can get that humidity above 50-55 that would be great

The first 3-4 days is when the harvested parts give off most the of humidity. Then the RH% falls slowly as there's less water contained in the fresh cut stuff.

40% is too low. Which, I doubt you'll see it that low during the first 5 days of dry. I'd expect you to see a RH% in the high 50's. Water off the plants will keep it high.

It's when the plant parts reach a internal humidity of 50%. Is when you need to really watch it. At first, the dehumidifier can be set at 35%. Two days later, 40%. Then 45%. Finally set at 50%.

Then the humidifier will take over as the plant dries past a point.

You'll see. As for temperature. Try to keep it below 70°. With 73° being a max. Your goal with the low temps is to make sure the terpenes ain't heated off. Lowering the smell quality. The RH% prevents the plant from drying too fast. Lowering the taste and quality of the smoke. Too fast and it'll be harsh and will taste like dried lawn grass.

Should I put an ac in the room?

I have Ed Rosenthal's book "Harvest" (I like Ed) and he recommends the following for a dry/cure room; RH between 50-55% and a temp under 21c (70f). According to Ed temps over that and the terpenes will evaporate off. He said myrcene will leave first and it goes at 21c.
